You need to install the drivers in your pc. Search: "Install htc hero drivers windows 7" and it should be the 5th item. (I can't post links man)

No problem and there's nothing to be sorry about man. We all had to go through the same thing. All I'm trying to do is help you man, never meant to be rude (if that's what you thought). I'll be here for the next hour or so if you need some more help.

If you have no signal, it could be a number of problems.
A bad PRL, SID/NID #'s mismatch, outside of cricket coverage area. To answer the question no you don't need it active to get signal.

    help needed

hi brandon i a familiar with most of this fromflashing a motorola droid to cricket but i never went as far as using android sdk and cmd and stuff because when ever i tried it always gave me an error in command saying unknown command adb shell or something like that but i just tried using es file explorer to push the telephony.db file into the directory it needs to be and i rebooted after aand i went to send an mms and when i hit send it says process bla bla blah messaging.mms has stopped responding so i put the original back, i am downloading the android sdk file you attached to this thread. but i dont know if this makes a difference but my hero is from blue wireless, any tips would be appreciated
