Anybody actually ever use Verizon prepaid's unlimited plans monthly or daily?
Unlimited talk on the Verizon network is pricey at 3.99 a day or $74.99 just for talk. And their byod is more restrictive then Verizon mvnos (but predictable). But has anyone ever used either unlimited version?
If so, why? Because you talk a lot on certain days? Because CS/tech support is better? Because you have a prepaid Verizon phone that cannot be used anymore on the mvnos because of the ban? Unlimited data on demand at a dollar a day?
Just checking.

The daily unlimited plan is now listed as the "3.99 daily plan" on the website. You have to call in to CS to activate the monthly plans. I don't if they will try to charge you an activation fee for that.
I don't see anybody really going for Verizon's expensive unlimited for other then specialized purposes (like unlimited only a few days a month), no other way to get unlimited with Verizon prepaid phone except this option , or the users plain not knowing there are other , cheaper Verizon prepaid mvno alternatives for both Paygo and unlimited.
Just wondering if anyone ever used them. I recall a couple of people used to use the old Net10 unlimited plan ($80 a month) before they replaced it with the $50 one.
Their unlimited messaging is a better deal then PPCs if all you don't talk much for the messaging part because you get mms/pic/video/im along with the text but PPC's per minute rate is stronger. 4-10 cents a minute vs. Verizon's 25 cents.
I live in Canada and use the $3.99 per day plan for the few days a year I am driving in the US or know i'll have a lot of phone calls.
It's way nicer to have hours and hours of talk and 1 cent texts on the 2 days I actually need it then getting barely any minutes with Virgin Mobile for 15 or 30 dollar top ups like i used to. Also Verizon prepaid coverage and voice quality is so much better than the Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile prepaid coverage- I've tried pretty much all of them with Virgin, Net 10, and Tracfone and everyone used to complain how awful the sound quality was.
I realize Page Plus has the same coverage, but I just never wanted to risk anything like say porting or an activation messing up, and ending up with a worthless phone, because it would take a few days to resolve something or another and I'd be back in Canada by then.
Essentially I have Verizon prepaid (LG 5500) because I know it will always work in the places I'll be (Buffalo to Pittsburgh I90/I79 corridor) without any hassle.
That said, if I ever live in the US again, I won't bother with this plan.

Well I think you pretty much have your answer. I like VZW prepaid's basic plan with the $20 text bundle. I add a $30 dollar card a month and get unlimited SMS and MMS, plus a few talk time minutes. I know I could get more with an MVNO, I am just more comfortable with VZW direct for the time being.
I have the $3.99 plan and use it solely for unlimited data, nothing else. Actually, it's the best prepaid data plan I've ever found, which is ironic considering Verizon's tendency to overcharge for just about everything compared to its competitors.

You realize you could be on the basic plan, then pay only 99 cents per day for data right?
The $3.99 plan gets charged the same 99 cents a day. In fact, I'm pretty sure all of the prepaid plans charge the same for data.
What does that have to do with his point? Why choose the most expensive plan possible ($3.99 a day when used) when you could just choose the Basic plan that has no daily use fee if all you're doing is accessing data? It doesn't make any sense. Or is there no $3.99 daily access fee if all you're doing is accessing data?
And are you accessing data just on your phone or are you tethering?
I thought his point was suggesting that I could pay less for data if I switched to the basic plan. So, I pointed out that data is the same across the board. The $3.99 plan also costs significantly less for text messages, should I ever use the phone for that. Also, in an emergency, if I have to make a call with that phone, it would be better to have unlimited calling, assuming that, in an typical emergency, you are making multiple calls lasting for a long time. To answer your question, no, there's no daily access fee unless you make a call. I mostly access data on the phone.
Oh, I forgot to add that this is a converted Alltel plan. Since they charge data by the minute, I have to use the $3.99 plan or I get charged 10 cents/minute on top of everything else.

OK, now it all makes sense. Never mind.
Are you aware you wouldn't even be charged the .99/day data charge if you used a different proxy server?
I thought none of the proxy servers worked anymore. Everytime I have tried to set one up, it always failed.
Well it's been a couple years since I did this on Verizon prepaid but it definitely still works on Verizon postpaid. I was using hopke.net for $12/year. Were you trying to set up a free one or a paid one?
