So Ovi maps works without data fir sure? I know it takes a long time for it to get a location lock without data plan assistedGPS but once it gets the lock after 10 mins, does it work fine?

Yes it works fine since you can do offline search using the downloaded maps on memory card.
Phone History: HTC HD2 | Nokia 5230 Nuron | Nokia N900 | BB Curve 8900 | iPhone 3G | Google Ion | Nokia 5800XM | Nokia E71-2 | T-Mobile G1 | iPhone 2G
Just wanted to chime in. I picked up an HD2 today (upgraded on line 1 of my family plan) and did the bogo offer for the nuron (free upgraded on line 2 of my family plan [with tzones]). I was not required to change tzones to the $9.99 web2go. This was also confirmed in my 2 seperate discussions with CSRs that you are not required to get the $9.99 plan if you have tzones.
Can't wait to play with the 2 new phones over the weekend!
It has worked out fine for me so far. I have used the 5800XM in the past so I know what to expect from this. 3G works great on this phone and reception is pretty good. It froze me couple of times because lack of memory.

Where did you get the HTC HD2? It's been out of stock since last night on t-mobile's site. Did you order it from another store (they allowed the bogo offer?).

I went to a T-mobile corporate store in a suburb of Philly. Surprisingly they had 4 in stock when I went in during lunch.
BOGO is honored at the store, they will not do it over the phone and I am not sure about online.

Dude, the guy at the t-Mo store said that, "If you want the $50 rebate, you'll have to get the $10 web plan. And, that means you'll have to give up the $6 tzones plan." He got no commission from me and probably never will. I went to Amazon, saved the $70 purchase price and kept my tzones. OK, I don't have the device to play with this weekend but I'll have plenty of time for that.

Enjoy your Nuron.
The problem with Amazon though is that I think it renews the contract or it only allows you to buy one phone. I tried getting one for my sister and me and the site only accepted my sister's phone number even though we've been on t-mobile the same amount of time. I assume she was accepted because she had been with my father on a separate family plan (until recently, now he added my mother and I as well) and he's been a customer for about 10 years. So, then I tried my father's number and it still won't accept the upgrade. So, I'm thinking it likely renewed the contract (when it accepted my sister's) and the rest of us are screwed now if we want an upgrade or amazon only allows one person per account to order?
Has anyone been able to modify iSync to permit the phone? I've done it in the past by picking a similar phone in isync and modifying it, but there is no similar phone in this case. I went so far as to buy the nova media plugin, which claims to support the 5230, but it doesnt work either. Could tmo branding be interfering?

hmm that's weird...did you check your mytmobile page to see if you are still eligible to upgrade on your number? it's only supposed to renew your line i thought... Did you call t-mobile and ask if your line has a full discount still? Did you call amazon to see why you couldn't upgrade your line? Let me know what you find out because I'm thinking about upgrading multiple lines on amazon as well.

I need to apologize for my semi-rant; I was being a bit over the top. Anyway, it appears amazon only let's you upgrade one phone per account. I went to a t-mobile store today and bought the Nuron with a partial upgrade. I only paid $61 and worked out a plan to pay for the rest of the phone in the next 4 months. I like it so far, it takes a little getting used to, but it's a good phone. The only thing I do not like is the camera, you need good lighting in order to take good picture otherwise the photos come out mediocre.
Is anyone out there using the phone with stereo BT? This phone seems to be much more prone to dropouts when outdoors than any of my previous phones. I'm using moto s9 hds--wondering if anyone has had better luck with other headsets?
Thanks!
BTW, you can adjust the iso for low light conditions, and get lots less picture noise

NO, I am not using the nuron, but I have used a wide variant of Nokia phones over the past 5 years with an even wider variant of different bluetooth headsets and have noticed that bluetooth range is terrible on every model. One you go outside or get out of your car the range is about 3 feet. Sometimes the phone can be in my left pocket and my BT ear bud will be on the right ear and it will drop out while walking.
