I was wondering if anyone had one yet and if so, how is it?
Is it possible to tether to your pc through a usb connection through Ovi suite or some software?
Thanks.
I hope someone tries to tether with it. Im interested.
I've read threads saying the Nokia 5230 can tether but I want to make sure the Nokia Nuron can as well because sometimes carriers take out that option unfortunately.

Went and played with this today at the T-mo store. I didn't get it because I didn't want to give up my tzones and $120 is a bit much for this on contract.
Does anyone know when Walmart or Best Buy will be getting this in? I really like the phone but I want it at my price.
TC.
I got mine today, and tethering is not "supported" yet, since the modem could not be found.
Could be at firmware level.
I am able to tether using e90, n900 using pc suite.
Thats all that i can say for now. Until someone manage a way to install the modem for this phone.
well that's unfortunate...did you trying using it with Ovi Suite?Originally Posted by dboy2006a
i wonder if there is an easy way to debrand the nokia nuron...i read some nokia debranding threads but they seemed pretty complicated
Yes :-), Successful now.
Nokia PC Suite -> Failed
OVI Suite -> Successful tethering.
Modem recognized using OVI suite.
So have fun guys
Hmm not really. I try once with Nokia 6263. The rebranding is quite easy. Once you rebrand this phone can be used for tethering and installing opera mini.Originally Posted by cheaplikeafox
oh I see. Does the nokia nuron not have opera mini pre-installed? So you can't download it and install opera without rebranding it?Originally Posted by dboy2006a
Is surfing the web on the built-in browser on the phone painfully slow like reviews having been saying?
thanks for the info on your tethering success! Looks like I'll have to get this phone soon!
It's more like $70 with the mail-in-rebate. I was planning to buy it through radioshack since they have it for $19.99, but I learned that the price is only for new customers; for upgrades it's $49.99, so it would be more expensive since I'm on a family plan that's getting 3 other phones.Originally Posted by topcat
yuriev, topcat, the amazon wireless store has this for $0.01 for upgrades and you don't have to change your plan so you can keep your tzones and your grandfathered plans.Originally Posted by topcat
Ok, i went tonight and bought this phone straight out for 179.00. I do have to say that this is a nice phone. I dont have it activated yet, but im trying to get the Ovi maps working without the data and its a no-go so far. Just from the SIM card being in there and showing the signal, i have to say that the reception is very good! Almost as good if not better than a moto phone! I may activate it tomorrow.
but ovi maps is supposed to work offline without data with activated phones right?Originally Posted by wam
I thought it would work straight out of the box. Its still a no-go. I will try to activate it then try again.
dboy2006a,
Thats great that it will work with Ovi suite! I hope to get to try it tomorrow. If tethering will not work, then i will get the HD2 or the Cliq XT. LOL
Any idea why it's so low? How is amazon going to make a profit for selling it at 1 cent? Anyway, if I buy it there can I still call t-mobile later and ask them to add the $10 data plan or is that option only available if you buy it through them?Originally Posted by cheaplikeafox
