Are there any changes from ESE53 that anyone would notice on this one?

Here's what I found @ BGR as far as improvements are concerned:

    http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/...roid-now-live/

If that's all there is, then it's nothing special. I think a lot of custom ROMs already implemented these features (at least Pete's did).

It hasn't been officially released yet. I'll post it here as soon as Verizon approves it.

I second this. There is Nothing that 2.1 brings that most custom ROMs already have. I'm running the cyanogen mod and I really like the fact that I am rooted and can overclock, etc.
I'm sure the 2.1 download file will be made available so I'll just wait until 2.1 is rooted and new custom ROMs are built on 2.1. The Milestone 2.1 has already been rooted (in a matter of hours).

FYI the ese53 file which is in fact the 2.1 ROM is already out and rooted. Fact is this release is old news and brings nothing to the table most of us here at Hofo haven't already seen anyways.

And I'm assuming you realize most of the custom ROMs are already based on 2.1 ever since the ese53 file was posted. So even with this ese81 file gets posted at some point it will not bring much of anything to the table.
