The clock and alarm and the home dock are all different in 2.1
Go to apps and click on Clock (or is it Desk Clock?) - that is also the media/homedock now. That was NOT there in 2.0.1

Anybody tried their Bluetooth headset to confirm if voice dial through the headset still doesn't work, even with 2.1? Or, if by some miracle it has been fixed I would be delighted to hear that.

It looks like you need to be at 2.0.1 rooted with SPRecovery to install it, so if you've gone up to 2.1, you need to flash down to 2.0.1 sbf, reroot, install SPRecovery, and then root with this.

To flash down to 2.0.1, follow the instructions here: http://alldroid.org/threads/15605-Un...one-using-.sbf

I can't find a link to a 2.0.1 root update.zip easily, but they should be around.

I don't plan to do this as I don't really need root for anything.

So far, only Moto Blur has that. It is not part of Android yet.

Thank you for your clear input!

Seems like I'm not missing anything as I have a "yahoo.com" email & had the general email app set up already. Thought Yahoo now had its own dedicated app (ala Gmail) or ATLEAST had push notifications instead of interval

The instructions should probably be amended, as my phone was rooted and I was able to update to ESE81 with no issues. Thanks for the update though!

So do you still get the OTA notification if you do a manual update?

No, because this is what the OTA download will be if you were to get it. Your phone says to Google's servers, "I'm a Droid running 2.1 ESE81! Anything for me, number (MEID)?" The server says, "ESE81? No. You're good."

hmmmm ok, I may wait until I get the OTA update though. Knowing my luck I will surely screw something up.

Yeah, if you already have your yahoo.com email setup already, you don't need to do anything. However, changing the yahoo mail server settings to the ones I posted (which is the settings that the 2.1 sets it up with) does fix the bug where sent mails written and sent using the handset will continually replicate itself in the sent mail folder every time it sync'ed.

Any chance of snagging that .sbf of ESE81 yet?
