Palm Pre Plus Mobile Hotspot FREE

It seems as if Verizon is now offering the Mobile Hot Spot feature for free on the Palm Pre Plus. It was $40.00 extra. Also, the prices are now 49.99 for the Pre Plus and 29.99 for the Pixi Plus.
v Speed Test with my Motorola Droid in AL. Droid Does (and so Does Verizon).

Speed Test with my Motorola Droid in Birmingham, AL. Droid Does (and so Does Verizon).^

Speed Test with DSL internet with AT&T(Bellsouth). Horrible.

Verizon not gouging their subs, wow. They already gave away phone so the price drop on Web OS is expected because of the slow sales.

I guess they need something to compete with the EVO 4G hotspot thingy.

That is seriously good offer. I fix computers and this would allow me to bring my laptop with me and access web, download drivers etc anywhere. I already liked webos but couldn't justify spending $30 on data package. This might just be the killer app to push me to a smart phone.

This is a great deal. And it's still on BOGO. Verizon seems to really be helping Palm as much as they can..

The free mobile hotspot alone may make me to return my Droid and stay with the Pre Plus. I just wonder how long that promotion will last. Not being a contractual item, Verizon can change the pricing on it at any time. It may be free now, but in a couple months they could starting charging for it again.

Really? ugh man I was seriously wanting to go dive into the Pre with this offer now. I'm thinking about it. Man, but if they just yank this off and charge extra again later that wouldn't be good. I still may do it.

WTF is going on with Verizon? First, the unlimited talk for $39.99 on the test man page, and now dropping this mobile hotspot app from $40.00 to free?

They really want to MURDER every other carrier in the country, especially if those new plans come to light.

It was just conjecture. Whether or not they actually do it, remains to be seen. I was just speculating that this might be temporary to entice people to buy (or keep) webOS phones and may go away sometime in the future.

Oh my gosh this is incredible! You just made my afternoon. I logged into My Verizon and clicked the manage features and they had the Mobile Hotspot App for $0.00. Just tried it and it works. I can't believe I'm saying this but I freaking love Verizon!!

Yep, I'm in then. I'm going to get a Pre then, this is so awesome and will be extremely useful. I need to ditch my old Curve its time to retire it.

Would they not have to let me know in advance? Seems like they can't charge for something that has remained free. The site didn't say it was a trial, it was just the feature.

If only they would make an app for Android that doesnt require root. And also make Visual Voice Mail free while they are at it.
