The USB Performance Dock is worth every cent

I'm trialing CLEAR right now and the signal is very in and out inside of my house even with the newest 4G modem, so I was looking at the accessories for the modem and noticed the Performance Dock, and this video on Youtube..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzo0N05pE1w

so I had to buy one.

    I went from this..

    to this

Data speed - (when the Dock is sitting in a window it works best, 0-3 bars still throughout the house but no disconnects)

This is what I typically get near the tower with 10 dots during low congestion hours (12:00 am during this test)

So thumbs up for a $9.99 well spent.

Very interesting post. I have really no signal where I am moving and 1-2 bars outside, Im wondering if this will help me, Id really really like to keep Clear because its a bargain for what it is and eventually im sure they will fill in the gaps. Im wondering if I should jump through all these hoops or just go with DSL at the house.

You should definitly try it. It doesn't work well inside of my home but near a window it picks up enough bars to be bareable. Because you do have something outside I can safely say it should improve but only if you have it pointing outward.

The dock works excellent for me. I go from 7 bars to full 10 bars just by using the dock. Worth every penny. The speed is just as fast as my Clear home modem.

Does not work with all Clear USB modems, only the new Ubee PXU-1900 modem.

Yes, that USB modem and that dock ($9.95 for the dock). I've had Clear Pick 2 Home & USB since January in Charlotte, NC and am very satisfied. Went from RR cable modem to Clear @ $50.00/mo. for both home and USB service, both unlimited speed & unlimited usage, no contract. Great value.

When I have had issues, Clear phone support has been superb and gone beyond my expectations to make me happy..

Man, that performance dock is SWEET! Too bad it only works with that one model of modem, though. Right now, IF I go with Clear, the best option for me would be one of the dual band 3G/4G USB modems, since Clear 4G is available where I work, but is not yet available at my house. But I can't get a performance dock for those modems.

It took a ridiculously long time to happen, but at some point this year, Sierra Wireless FINALLY started offering a Desktop Performance Dock for the SW 250U 4G+ USB Modem, which is available directly from Sierra HERE! I finally ordered one, it arrived yesterday, and it's worth EVERY PENNY! Finally, at long last, those of us that need the ability to fall back on Sprint 3G when 4G isn't available (such as when a thunderstorm moves through the area and interferes with reception for Gord only knows what reason ) can now have a proper HOME/OFFICE modem that offers that capability!

And the thing works as advertised! It states on the box that it offers "50% speed improvement indoors" and that's definitely been my experience! Using the USB modem on its own, in the master bedroom of the house, I would get a full 10 bars of signal strength, delivering download speeds of 5-6 mbps. WITH the Desktop Performance Dock, I was able to get 9 mbps last night!

The ONLY problem is that it STILL doesn't allow me to pull in a usable 4G signal in the one room of the house where I've never been able to get a usable 4G signal.

Man I love this Desktop Performance Cradle! I'm working in a downtown area near D.C. today, and have now hit download speeds as high as 10.67 mbps using it!

Just got the NetZero branded version of the same stick, I'm unable to find the dock for sale anywhere. Does it still exist?
