    Sony TM506 Settings for WIND

    Hi :

I recently joined WINDMOBILE and bought a Sony TM506 and was wondering if anyone else purchased this phone? If so, I have the following questions:

    (1) Debranding: need to debrand phone (get rid of T-Mobile crap) and was wondering if anyone has done this successfully already? Does anyone have a surefire "how to" on how to do this?

    (2) Picture message + web settings: does anyone know what the proper settings are for the phone to send/receive picture messages? Although I can get text messages, I cannot send or receive picture messages. When I look @ the settings on my phone, there's just no way to figure out what to set it to. Has anyone been able to set theirs up?

I'd really appreciate it if you can help!

    Thanks!

Hey bachviet: thanks a lot for the quick reply! I'll give that a go so that I can finally get rid of all the T-Mobile stuff that's taking up space on my phone!

    Love the TM506!

Now, all I need are the WIND settings for sending/receiving picture messages and accessing the web.

Anyone know how to set the TM506 for this?

    Thanks!

    Hi :

    Actually, yes you can:

    http://www.windmobile.ca/support/faq...nd/#question-2

The only thing is, since they do not carry the TM506, I have to figure out on my own what the settings should be in order to send/receive MMS messages.

Wow ~ I'm guessing no one else is using a TM506 on the WIND network?

    hi otisndrexl,
this will help you get your tm506 working
go to SETTINGS, CONNECTIVITY, select INTERNET SETTINGS (you will see T-MOBILE) select T-MOBILE, click on options (left soft key), select creat new account.
in ACCOUNT TYPE select PS DATA, in the next screen enter name WIND, apn INTERNET.WINDMOBILE.CA
thats all, to get the phone's browswer working, that is. now to get opera mini and google maps, that it has been a nightmare for me, but got it working (without wind tech help -they service those apps-)
here goes for google maps and opera mini:
go to ORGANIZER, select APPLICATIONS, highlight OPERA, click on OPTIONS (left soft key), select INTERNET SETTINGS, select DEFAULT ... thats all (took me forever to find out how to)
    for GOOGLE, do the same.
now, sony ericsson will send you a text message and install the setting automatically on your phone but only for rogers, fido and primus (so far). if you want (or anybody else do) i can post the link.
hope i was helpfull. i am a total novice and first time user of a forum. i just couldnt keep quite after seeing that you needed the help i needed a month ago.
    bye for now,
    el isma

    CORRECTION:
    where it says:
(without wind tech help -they service those apps-)
should say: they don't service those apps
    sorry for the mistake
