haha nice yeah I can't remember all the things they've said about the phones anymore but oh well they're seems to be less and less info coming in about the Droid 2 which stinks as I am really looking forward to a new high end qwerty phone....

Yeah realistically that's probably true....but I'm still hoping for a similar release to the Shadow around Aug at the latest with the Droid 2 simply not having any leaks with that inventory screen shot I like that idea haha But I'm just bored with my phone and want a new slider to play with

But if the shadow releases relatively soon with no Droid 2 solid info I may just have to pick that up even though I know I'll hate having to always use the screen for typing...

No it is probably coming out in July. Moto is releasing 2 new handsets to verizon in July. One is the shadow, and the other is probably the droid 2.

Newest update on release I just received. Droid2 is August at some point just won't say an actual date. Shadow info will be posted in a min in the corretc thread so there is no more confusion.

You guys sure they said two new Verizon handsets by July? Las time I checked, all I saw was 2 new handsets.
And I hope for Motorla's sake that they start cranking out more GSM handsets, theres more GSM subscribers worldwide than CDMA subscribers.

Yes, they are both for Verizon.

Not in the US. CDMA handsets easily dominate GSM handsets. That being said, Motorola is doing great overseas in Latin America and Asia AFAIK, it's the US division that is suffering. That being said, since their US sales are dragging them down, CDMA is the way to go. Remember, Motorola has put out several interesting Asia-bound handsets. It's the US GSM market they've ignored, and for good reason. The only carrier with substantial numbers on GSMWCDMA is AT&T, and AT&T has made it painfully clear they are solely concerned with the iPhone, meaning there's no good reason for Motorola to develop US GSM Android handsets.

Well Aug is promising atleast, just hope its not too late in Aug...

Hopefully within a month from the Shadow release so I can use the shadow for 30 and return it if I need the keyboard and not have to wait on the Droid2

FWIW a Walmart Connection Center person just told my wife that they wouldn't be getting in any more Droids and were waiting on the "Droid 2". I really don't know if this person really meant "Droid 2" or if they just meant "another Android phone". Seems early if Droid 2 won't be available until July.

I hope it isn't late August, the sooner the better. But August is better than November!

I'm eligible to upgrade next week, but am going to do my best to wait it out limping along with my current POS.

Based on what you said I decided to go to the local target. they sell the Droid. they had it on display so I asked if they had any more Droids in stock, the guy said they were sold out. I asked when they expect to receive more shipment. He said it has been discontinued and he doesn't expect to receive anymore. He said there is a new Droid coming out to replace it. Most likely to arrive by the end of the month or beginning of next month. He couldn't give me an exact date. He didn't know names or specs, just that it was a replacement for the moto droid.

Verizon is running BOGO on the Droid now so that means it is near the end of the term. The discontinued news seems logical at least for retailers like Walmart and Target. Droid 2 should be out sooner rather then later and the Droid PRO will be near the 1 year anniversary of the Droid 1. Just speculation.

BOGO on the Droid has been going on for a while, so I wouldn't necessarily speculate that it means it's end of life for it. I'm not saying it isn't, but I don't think it is proof of anything. Plus, they did it a few months ago as well.
