Flashing HTC Touch Pro Sprint to MetroPCS

Hi everybody

A friend of mine just gave me his Touch Pro he no longer uses and i found out that i could switch to MetroPCS. Knowing this i went to the store to get it done and she told me it couldn't be done and she was like "i can flash it but i can't program it to make it work with Metro" so i walked out disappointed.

Doing my own research using the web i've read many stories (even here in this forum) about people flashing the same kind of phone to MetroPCS and so i decided to do it myself, well not really but maybe get some ideas and know the process so i can go back to the store and tell them how do it.

As much as i read through i've got the ideas and concepts used during such flashing. At the store she told me after being flashed the MMS and WEB services wouldn't be available, i had no problem with that and now i found out that you can get such services with a bit more of effort.

I know how to get the SPC
is the phone EVDO or AWS?
which would be the best prl file for the phone?
if i ever get it done i could just go the store and tell them to get its ESN into the system and make calls?

If the info for all this has been already posted before could you direct to the right direction to them

well see u can only use it if you are in a non aws area . most new metro pcs areas in the last year to 18 months are aws so check your zip on metro website to see flashing that thing is easy i can give you help hit me up .
also if you are in a aws area it wont work for you sorry there is no 1700 band on the phone and thats what a aws market is .

you can also chk out the cricket forums thread here they have all the help you want with flashing and you can get all of it working if you arent in a aws area . 1 last thing if you arent in a aws area and you take that phone in to a aws area your phone will not , i repeat will not work @ all no roaming or anything .

what this person is doing isnt really flashing she changing the prl to 6-zeros and puttting a metro prl on the phone . i monkey could do this given the proper tools and instructions

I have both Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2 on MPCS, and both came from Sprint: the chick at the store is retarded. Get over to a store that knows what the hell they're doing and get it flashed on Houdini, then go home and follow the instructions here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...rint+touch+pro

Note: former poster is correct if you are in an AWS-only area, so check that.

There is a TON of information about how to get the Touch Pro onto Metro pcs. You have a couple of options. Flash it yourself and find someone (store) that can add the ESN onto metro, find a store (non Corporate Metro store) that can flash it and add the ESN, and here is an online, reputable service that can do it for you... http://www.mymetroflash.com/index.html they can also add web, pic message, gps...

To find a cellphone store near you, try craigslist. Alot of stores are now doing it.

i left the phone at this shop where they told me they could do it, they even offered me to set up the WAP and MMS services for an extra 60 bucks but i told them that would be later on (truly is expensive and want to try it myself, if not succeed then i might go with them to do it).

I just got back from the store to pick it up but they told me is not ready yet because the computer doesn't recognize it and will keep trying tomorrow and hopefully they get it done.

Anyone had this same problem flashing your own touch pro or is it mine just weird?

This is almost certainly because the store's houdini machine doesn't have the drivers loaded for the touch pro. I ran into the same problem when flashing ny TP1. The sad bpart bis that all they have to do is call the folks bat houdini for a quick walk-through.

I got my touch pro flashed with SSK rom, activated with mms, wap in about 2 hours at a wireless store. Then again, the person was very experience and had flashed my mogul before that. Hope they get it done.

Once activated, get the ryanmogul cab to get the wap up.
