Need help debranding E71-2
Ho everyone!
I just got an Nokia E71-2 (RM-357).
It is unlocked BUT still branded to Telus (Canada).
I would like to apply a generic firmware. I know that I have to change the product code on the phone, but there is so much code on the net that I don't know at all which one I should use.
Here is the information I got on the phone (*#0000#)
301.21.001
24-07-2009
RM-356
Actual product code : 0582556

Yep, I used Nemesis (NSS) to change my device product code.
In fact, I did :
1) Install Nokia PC Suite
2) One installed and all drivers installe (you have to plug the phone), I closed everything related to this software
3) Installed NSS
4) Wend in the drivers directory of this software and right-clicked on the INF file and selected "Install". I did that because the drivers never installed by itself
5) Started NSS
6) Pluged my phone and selected Nokia PC Suite
7) Clicked on "Search"
8) Click on the button READ
9) Wrote the new product code in the right place
10) Clicked save
11) Started NSU (Nokis Software Update) and let it update to latest version
12) Passe all my day playing with my new unbranded phone.
As for the unsigned apps, I tried to install a JAVA game and it refused, telling me that the software has no certificate.
