I was on Sprint before I moved to PP. As others have posted taxes and fees REALLY add up and they go up every couple months too. The HTC EVO does look like a very sweet device, however. If I get 4G coverage at home, and its $199 or less w/ contract, it may be hard to resist the unlimited high speed data and 5gb of 3g data elsewhere.

    OR

2 Sprint Everything Data plus Any Mobile Unlimited - Unlimited Calling to any mobile, 1600 Minutes shared, Nights and Weekends starting at 7pm (or 6pm for extra $10), Unlimited Data, GPS, Web/Text/MMS, Roaming included - $129.99 month - 25% (discount) = $97.49

    w/ HTC EVO 4G..

Hmm this has now become a No-Brainer... looks like i'll be dumping PagePlus come June 13th.
Lets see...$97 plus $10 per line for fees and taxes is $117. AND you have to scam the system and get a discount, assuming you don't have a legitimate one like my 15% student discount at Sprint. Oh plus no 3G....or 1X for that matter. Leeching off VZW for coverage = fail. Oh plus 2 year contract. Nice fail sir.

this thread is starting to remind me of the previous threads regarding
    t mobile's project dark.
    whatever that was.
if i remember, that was suppose to be a "game changer"

I've never heard so much whining. If $5 breaks the bank for you, maybe you need to go back to school or something. It's not an extra $50 or something. Oh and for reference, T-Mo's project dark was just lowering prices if you bought a phone full price.

Yup I put up a post about zero balance messages but almost no comments on the actual service (of course someone would have to have the service to comment on that as opposed to this which every wayward poster on the planet has an opinion on apparently) issue but pages and pages for this.

Not so fast... It might work out better for some people.

Here's what I was going to get:

Everything Data - with Any Mobile, Anytime $69.99, and we all know what that includes:

Any Mobile, Anytime: Unlimited domestic calls from the Sprint network to and from ANY U.S. mobile phone regardless of carrier. Any network, any time.
Unlimited data: Web surfing, email, BlackBerry Internet Services (BIS), GPS Navigation, Sprint TV and Radio, NASCAR Sprint Cup MobileSM
Unlimited Direct Connect: Direct Connect and Group Connect (for capable phones)
Unlimited messaging: Text, pictures and video
Talk: Night calling and weekends starting at 7 p.m., nationwide long distance and no roaming charges
+ 450 minutes to call landlines

Plus a very low risk of getting terminated unlike PagePlus.

450 regular minutes to call landlines is more than I will ever use, and worst case I am sure I can call sprint retentions and get them to tack on a free or cheap pick 3 or pick 5

IIRC my employee website says 22% off service but when I started a order at sprint it said 20%... so... can investigate that later...

Sprint: Twenty-two percent (22%) discount on monthly service for most plans.
To speak to a representative call (888) 804-8591 and identify yourself as an (EDITED) employee. You will need to provide the Corp ID: (EDITED). Please note that additional proof of employment may be required. The (EDITED) discount is also available in any Sprint retail store, please also mention the Corp ID: (EDITED)
    = $53/mo + taxes and fees... = $60/mo give or take.

So, $15/mo more for an awesome phone (HTC 4G) and truly 'unlimited' services for me, not to mention DATA which is a huge plus and IMHO worth the $15/mo extra for me.

But I might just do a family plan and hop some of my friends on there who are on P+ right now, so that would bring the cost down even lower.

    Example:
    5 lines @ $190/mo - 22% = $148 + taxes/fees = $175 maybe?

= $35 per month per line.

And thats with unlimited everything and 1,500 landline minutes... which is more than enough. Everyone is using cell phones now.

(Need 3,000 mins? Not a problem. Only $40 more - discount = $35 w/ tax... Spread it over 5 lines = $7 ea) -- Gives 600 minutes to every line, which would be way more than enough for us... worst case (and I don't see this happening as all of us call cell phones and text the majority of the time), someone uses 800 minutes, but other people use less, so it balances out. Of course, usage would be monitored.

Contract you might say? So what. Even if I wanted to cancel the contract I bet I would still be ahead.

Let's just say the EVO 4G will be $200 w/ contract... and $550-$600 without (the PRE is $550 without)... As long as the ETF is less than $300, your ahead really. Sell the phone on eBay, get even more $$ back too.

I already have used sprint and the service is great here, just like Verizon, AT&T, and US Cellular. So... no problems there. Unfortunately, no 4G here yet but I can pull 2mbps down during the day and the upload is often faster than my $55/mo TWC internet on Sprint 3G (see signature)... No fail for me here. --- Oh, and that speed is going from a old, slow Mogul over free WMWifirouter to my netbook's WiFi... Im sure all of that slowed it down a bit.
    Home ISP, RR-Ultimate WiFi, $90/mo | Verizon 4G, $30/mo Unlimited

    School, $5,000/semester | Work

Oh, I forgot about the new SERO plans that anyone can get too.

Not sure if extra discounts can be added to SERO though?

Either way, its $59.99 for 500 mins with (vs $69.99 for 450) and $79.99 for 1000 mins for the Everything Plus™ Data - with Any Mobile, Anytime individual plans.

Or $109.99 for 1,600 mins and $149.99 for 3,200 minutes. Additional lines are only $14.99

If a employer discount can be added to SERO, its really clear who wins.

Sprint is definitely not bad, but for most people they are still more expensive than P+. If they offered better coverage around here I would definitly go back to them, but roaming all the time at 1X speeds just drove me nuts.

The 44.95 plan will continue to get people , though not at the clip it was going at when it was 39.95. Page Plus has gone through its period of rapid (over)expansion. They appear to be trying to get some stability and probably a more realistic assessment of their profitability from this plan.

The seemingly "unlimited" mms is bottlenecked by the 20 megs of data for "data transport" though but the partial smartphone ban, improved CS and promissory note to grant 39.95 users an automatic $5 credit to compensate for the price increase on May 18 is some consolation.

There is another forum which states there may be a definitive cap announcement from PPC coming. Scattered reports of "They kicked me off of PPC unlimited continue" though over 90% of PPC UTNT are oblivious.

I still say to those who want Verizon coverge and nearly true unlimited and got kicked off and banned from Page Plus , bite the bullet and pay the difference for Verizon prepaid unlimited monthly. It costs a pretty penny more (actually 3000 more pretty pennies or $30) but they, as a prepaid division , appear to give way more minutes then any Verizon mvno with "unlimted" ever could.

Same goes for EVERY prepaid division vs mvnos. The prepaid division of a major carrier has the advantage in a higher cap, if they have one for unlimited plans over an mvno of same parent company every time. I'll bet that the Att Gophone unlimited talk/text beats all the Att mvno unlimited talk/text plans like Air Voice Gsm and I bet Boost and Virgin Mobile both beat any Sprint mvnos for a higher cap for their unlimited offerings too...

Most mvnos beat their prepaid division cousins hands down for per minute and text rates though...

If you're such a Sprint fanboy, why are you on the PP forum? People here are looking for the freedom NON contracted services provide. The whole point of PP and other MVNO's is breaking free of the oppressive consumer abuse by the "Big 4".

Maybe y'all should stop debating PPC vs Sprint and stay on topic?

    $39.95 is increasing to $44.95.
MMS per event fees are going away.
MMS picture size will still be deducted from the 20mb.

That's it. From what I can tell, most people are not terribly upset about this. It's still a great rate, on a far superior network.
