Living life on the edge!
==But then I have no life==
I have been looking at CricKet. My daughter is very happy with CricKet and now it has gone Nationwide. Also they are suppose to be coming out with some new phones. Even with the taxes it will be cheaper for me than P+ after this increase.
This is the nail in the coffin for my continued business.
I was planning on moving on anyway. If I hadn't gotten a good deal on buying a few cards at the beginning of the year I'd already have jumped ship.
There is an obvious trend here though and that is that PP misjudged the actual underlying costs to properly provide the service. When they bumped (pick a number) some customers it was those that were somehow hurting their bottom line they raised handset prices at the same time. Then some people noticed they had increased customer service agents either that or the ones they have were being trained to ditch callers faster because the answer time decreased (a common complaint) now the price increase for the same product essentially.
Maybe Boost cdma again but probably gophone unlimited for the better coverage and for the m2m with some people I know that have them for a carrier plus I can go back to phones with 5-9 hour talk times before recharge that are easily swappable. Lots of drama left at the door on gsm.
If in fact, data remains at 20 MB or even increases to 50 MB and if data charge only takes effect after the use of the included data, then for many the extra $5 may not be a problem. In my area with coverage limited basically to VZW and PP, this will still be the least expensive option available.
i know you often get a lot of ***** from users on here kitty, but i really appreciate the amount of time / effort you put into finding answers on PP problems / dealing with their CS.Originally Posted by Kitty
please keep us updated on what you figure out!
In the current system you pay a message fee and a data transport fee. The way I read the new system is that the message fee is no longer charged but you still have to pay the data transport fee.Originally Posted by Kitty
Yeah, Cricket is a big competitor of Page Plus in my area. As a matter of fact, people that picked PPC was because only Veriz was available in this area mostly, so if cricket has gone none roaming now....it will hurt PPC. Maybe the national non roaming isn't in effect everywhere yet, cause im pretty sure ppl still roam here.Originally Posted by granniegeek
In the current system, you never got charged the data transport fee until you exceeded your 20mb. I've never done that, so have never seen the data transport fee appear.Originally Posted by lg200c

In my area, Cricket nor Boost are yet an option. For the money, there is still only PP available.
I am in the same condition as you, but if Cricket is going non roaming on the VZW network...Then should have the same coverage as PPC & VZW, if I understand correctly.Originally Posted by markivy
ok so substitute fee for balance until said balance runs out. you get the point though.Originally Posted by Kitty
they better bring blackberries back
But why would you need any MB balance at all, if MMS is unlimited. I would feel stupid telling a customer. "You have unlimited Pic messaging as long as you don't run out of your 20mb's of Data" They would say, well I had MMS already..Untill I ran out of MB's. Crazy lolOriginally Posted by lg200c
