I know most people have moved on to an N1 or an X10 but for the odd person who made the mistake of updating with the RUU and wished to get root access back.
Great news!!

might be a bit OT, but does anyone know if there's something similar for the dream?
Best I can tell, the Dream can only be re-rooted with a jtag (hardware debug cable). For now at least.Originally Posted by toothpicvic

did you root yours?
Awesome! But I don't have a computer or access to one. Plus I'm scared to try this. Which is probably wise seeing I have little computer knowledge.
Anyone in the Queen City willing to help me? (I'll donate)![]()
I never updated via RUU. Sorry. =[Originally Posted by montclair130

i just rooted and am loading the SuperEclair2.1
so far so good.
thank god we finally got root again.
Did your data get disabled after updating? I'm creating my gold card right now.
data works fine so far
I think once you're cleared from the "disable data" list you can't be put back.Originally Posted by benguboy
Been running the root for about 4 days so far. No problems with data yet. Then again I signed the wavier when it first came out.
Let me know when you come down to Montreal hahaOriginally Posted by Phoenix713
Done. Rooted. Updated to radio 6.5.10.xx to avoid Rogers data cut off, I didn't agree with any waiver and I'm not going to.
2.1 on the Magic is very nice. Not as smooth as the Nexus One of course but much much better than 1.5. The fancy 3d effect launcher works but not very smoothly, I think they don't have the proper gpu drivers yet.
My phone is finally usable.
