WIND Should Stop Gathering Suggestions From Their Customers, Here's Why...
...Not all customers of course, but 95% of them. I know there are Wind employees reading this, hence why I posted here.
Before you start flaming, here are some points as to why they should stop:
A large majority of "ideas" on windmobile.ca (and here too) are due to just plain cheapness. Wind offers the best voice plans by a long shot, if you live in their home zone areas. Asking for "20$ unlimited" or to "reduce the always talk by 5$" is just flat out cheapness. Complaining about data is the new fad. Yes, I agree there should be a choice for the users who aren't going to need unlimited, but that doesn't mean they should offer a fire sale like some are suggesting
Don't like it, try the big three and see where that'll take you.
A lot of the other ideas are just flat out retarded and makes no sense from a business/competitive/logical standpoint. I also suspect that some suggestions come from people who aren't even WIND customers...
Bowing down to most of these demands on a wim is just a bad business strategy. You're starting to see it, as employees are starting to get frustrated with the constantly changing policies. Why should we care about any of this? Because if WIND starts to falter, then 1) it'll become like the other 3 carriers 2) it'll fail, and be bought out by one of the other 3 carriers.Either case is a huge fail for us and that means we'll contiuned to get gangbanged by the big 3
For the first time in Canadian history, we have a celluar company that isn't complete scum. So when you make a suggestion/idea, ask yourself, is it an actual, solid idea, or is it because of general cheapness.
You bring up some good points but "listening to customers" has been part of WINDs claim to fame. If they cut that off, then I'm sure people will cry out about it. In this day and age, what's said about you on the internet holds some weight to your image so I'm sure they don't want to do anything to tear down what's already been put in place.
I'm surprised that someone is actually taking the time to respond to all those messages, wish I had that job, haha. The responses though are pretty generic just to appease the person but anyone who knows anything would see right through it.
I think they should just leave it, it has helped to get slight things changed like possibly new data plans and more handsets. Oh, and remember when everyone complained about that funky ring? It's thanks to the ideas section that helped those things happen.
I believe one "Idea" (request) on Wind's site was $7 per GB of data, as Wind's current offering is soft-capped at 5 GB for $35.
Such requests remind me of the dullard who thought he was entitled to one-half of a multi-million dollar lottery jackpot because had 3 of the 6 winning numbers.
There's no need to take away the forum. Just ignore the cheap retards. If a person can make the case for a certain price point Wind should listen. I have long argued that Wind should reduce Always Talk by $5, for example. That's not cause I am cheap. I can afford the $5. I argue this because I believe the $35 price point places Wind at a competitive disadvantage vis-a-vis all the $25 plans in the market. By the same token, you will see that I have argued that in some cases they should not have lower priced options because they don't make sense. For example, I don't think this rumoured $10/50MB plan is good for Wind at all.
And there are good examples of "Conversation". The funky ring was one. Port blocking was another.
Reasonable arguments should be part of the "conversation". And I think it's fairly easy to tell when customers are being reasonable and when they are being cheap.

That's up there with all those who think Wind should match whatever retentions plan they got from Robellus. We have a few of those folks here too. Heck, even Robellus won't match each others retentions plan. Take your Fido retentions plans to Rogers and see what happens.
I agree that they shouldn't take away the "Ideas" section as there are some good ideas on there sometimes.
The post was directed at Wind, but also to some people on these forums who post really bad ideas (especially with that new "data plans released" thread that's going around).
You have 4/8 posts in this thread - it seems that you feel everyone is entitled to your opinion.
In all fairness, kEiThZ has much more objective and business-sane opinions than most on this forum. I'd much rather listen to his ideas than the "give me unlimited everything for $30/month" rants.

He has his moments, but his post count has become way over the top.
This is the "Wind Mobile" forum, not the "kEiThZ" forum.
I never said it was. I have also never made 8 posts in a row, or rebutted every post in a thread.
Well maybe you have other important things to do
Can't really hate on somebody for posting on a forum.. last time I checked, that's what forums are for. Some post more, others post less. No need to get all worked up over it, who cares?

Or maybe its time for an ALL OUT FLAAAME WAR!
In all seriousness tho; they should keep gathering suggestions. Here's one for them.
Have a $5 add-on on their Chat Plan to give you 6pm evenings and weekends unlimited. WHY? Simple: then you can gather more subs. I'd hop on for that in a SECOND. (once they launch in Vancouver).
I don't need a second phone, but it'd make it practical.
PHONEMODO I swap phones cause I can! Isn't Hipstamatic just awesome?
