Multiple sources have the HTC Droid Eris 2.1 upgrade OTA coming on 5/11. Let's keep all the confirmations/questions/problems/observations in one place.
I had been sorely tempted to use the leaked versions, but decided to wait it out for the official version. Hope the roll-out goes smoothly!

I have an Eris with the leaked version I bought from a Hofo member. Will I get any kind of notification, and will I be able to get the official update??

MY HOFO FEEDBACK
wait, you "bought" the leak? wtf
I heard the upgrade is being FORCED to the phone. I read it's mandatory. I'm guessing that a notification will be sent to the phone giving an option to back up before. The upgrade WILL wipe ALL data from phone.
Bought apps from the Android market will be restored and contacts will be synced with users Google account.

The leaked internal VZW notes did indicate that the install will wipe everything out. Apps will be easily downloadable again, including paid apps.Originally Posted by pix3l

That's what they seem to say. I wonder if any users of the Droid when moving from 2.0 to 2.1 had to do a full wipe of memory? What is the reason?Originally Posted by dcborn61
