    very strange lol
I'm guessing the youtube user just did it for the extra views. They do it all the time.

    RE: VM Broadband cards:

I thought so too, but I found the phones in another section, grouped with the other prepaid phones.

Anyone know if the Loft (or for that matter any of the new phones besides the Blackberry) will stream audio from Internet radio stations?

ESN is on receipt from Best Buy but when I try to activate I also get the message that it has not been unlocked by merchant.

I am pretty unimpressed that Virgin is apparently selling phones that can't be activated (by anyone here so far). Yet the website and the packaging for these phones emphasizes easy activation as a major selling point.

I wish they had a demo phone at the store so I could have just evaluated the phone in store.
**If you "Swap" on VirginMobileUSA.com, note the Network ID. On your phone, enter ##841446# to enter programming mode. Go PAST "Activate" to "Edit". Delete the numbers present and enter your phone number. Then select "OK". On the next page, delete the numbers present and enter your Network ID number (drop the first two digits) then select "OK"
. If correct, you will be set.

Surely someone has already spoken with a VM customer service person about this. Is there any solution? I am tempted to just return this and wait a few months except I will be doing some heavy calling for the next few months so my normal .10/minute T-mobile prepaid doesn't look nearly as good as the generous $40 plan VM is offering. But if phone activation is such a hassle, maybe there will be other problems too . . .
Once you get through to VM C/S, they will walk you through setting it up. You end up doing the "##VIRGIN#" and EDIT to enter your phone number and network ID.

IF, however, you bought the phone at Best Buy, it may not have been "activated" (marked as Sold/not stolen) by their computers due to a program error.

A message went out to Best Buy stores to "Pull the phones off the shelves". They were shipped, but not supposed to be stocked/sold until the 23rd. (This applies to the Blackberry and LG RumorTouch only). However, many/most Best Buys pulled the Loft and Rumor2 in the new box, also, despite the fact that the Loft -has- been released, and that the Rumor2 has been out for months.

BTW, anyone interested in the Rumor2 should note that Target is advertising them for $69 (reg $99).

Bought this phone at best buy today, also had the activation problem. I called vm and the lady put my serial in to be activated in a few days...what a hassle. Personally, after trying out the phone, it seems to have the same interface on any vm phone (like my rumor 2) nothing special or new there except for maybe the opera browser which I didn't get to test out. Overall the phone is solid, but I will still return it for one reason: THE KEYBOARD IS AWFUL! It is waaaay too stiff and the little nubs on it are way too small to do any serious texting on it. Even I have small hands and my fingers started to hurt after a minute or so. Anyone looking for a texting machine I HIGHLY recommend waiting out for the curve 8530 for texting if you have the $300, or if you don't mind boosts $50 unlimited plan, try out the sanyo juno. The juno's keyboard is very comfortable and feels like tiny pillow keys compared to the loft which feels like stiff pebble stones (ouch).

The keyboard on the Loft is good, as long as you don't have really long nails. If you do, the nails slip off the keys easily. Either way, you need to text with thumbs to the side, so you get your nails perpendicular to the 'nubs'...

How much of an upgrade would the Loft be from my current phone (Super Slice)?

I can't get the email app to download & work on the phone though I can do email using the WAP and Opera web interfaces. It is annoying that you can't rearrange or delete icons on the main menu (I don't think I'll want to pay $10/month to activate GPS on this phone anytime soon).
I just got the Loft about a day ago and I can not download the EMAIL/IM app as well. I called VM about it and they told me to reprogram my phone, still didn't work. I just sent them another email about it so I am waiting on that.
