I'm considering getting the HTC Incredible but I heard that you cant be on a phone call and text or surf the web at the same time? Why is that? I often tend to text and talk at the same time and it's not a dealbreaker but it is kinda inconvenient. Is this something Verizon plans to change in the future?

You can text and talk at the same time. Just no web unless you are connected to a WiFi connection. It's just something CDMA2000 1XEVDO Rev A can't do. EVDV can do that and 1X Advance can with EVDO can too. Yup, but you'll need a 4G device (i.e. not the Incredible).
It's more than just surfing the web. It's any data (any apps that use data, tethering, etc). SMS isn't data.

You can talk and surf the web simultaneously using Verizon WAN. You need an application like SipDroid which provides VOIP over WAN.
