    Purchasing problems with Net 10

    Hello,

It seems as though Net 10 has blocked me from making any online purchases. What happened was I would buy a net 10 phone from their website and then have the minutes/service days transferred to another phone. After the transfer was complete that phone that the minutes and days came off of would no longer be active since all of the service days were gone. Well according to the gentleman I spoke with from Net 10, he told me that in order for me to resume making online purchases 80% of my net 10 phones had to be active. This would be quite expensive seeing as I would have to buy an airtime card for each phone to re-activate it them.
I also was not aware that you are not supposed to transfer the minutes you receive when you activate a new phone. This would be the 300 min/60 days of service that you receive for activating a new phone. However each time I did it the representatives I spoke with gave me no problems with that matter.
So I was wondering if anyone has an alternate solution for me so that I may be able to make online purchases again. It saves me quite a bit of money buying online instead of going to a retail store. I even tried a different credit card and it still wouldn't let me make a purchase. So that tell me that are blocking my name/address. Thanks for the help, and have a great day.

You have reached the 50 phone lifetime cap on buying directly from Net10/Tracfone. The only way around it is with a different person/address/card, and that person would start deducting from their 50 phone cap. You will likely have to buy at a store from now on -- no reasonable way around it.

Once, Ian Littman used several people's addresses/cards for this and Tracfone figured it out, they went so far as to block his whole city from internet purchases! Did you happen to move to Texas recently (I forgot the city, it was a small one)?

It never occurred to you that Net10 would not stand by while you treated their somewhat expensive phones as if they were a cheap plastic airtime card? This 80% activated thing is new. It`s actually better that their normal option of killing every phone they sold you and taking back all the unused minutes without compensating you in any way, leaving you with nothing. Don`t ever expect their CS to have the proper training to know what is allowed and what is not allowed, Trac puts that burden upon the customer.

Their attitude toward harvesting minutes off of new phones has been covered more than most anything else on this site.

This remark was unnecessary! That was this poster's first post, you just left him with a bad impression. If we don't get new posters, eventually the board will die out -- please check the post count before making a trollish post like that!
