I've been with Bell for about a year now. From day one, when I logged into my account online I could click "check upgrade eligibility" and see my upgrade date, which did change once or twice. For the last two or three months, I've had this:
"At this time, we are unable to provide information about your hardware upgrade eligibility and special pricing offers."
Is Bell no longer advising of your upgrade eligibility online?
Mine showed November 8, 2011 last week.. now it shows that, I called in and my HUG has been pushed back to April 2012.. wth.. that's 33 months into my initial contract.. and the "View Source" shows that future credit will be $75.. so I'm confused right now. I was expecting to renew my phone later this year :/ my phones like 3 years old now argh
ditto, just called in and mine was pushed back from Oct '11 to Mar '12 although I was told it would be a full upgrade credit. That would also be 33 mos into my contract.
Was really looking forward to getting rid of this phone and getting the Bold Touch
Update:
I called in today and there seemed to be some changes on the upgrade schedule and how the credits will be applied.
Explanation:
The rep told me I could upgrade anytime but the amount of credits I would receive to put toward a new handset would increase by $15 monthly. It is now indicated on my account that I am due for an upgrade so that if I wanted a new phone, I could walk into any Bell store and buy it for the new contract price and the remainder would be billed to me on my monthly statement.
I believe the credits available will be subtracted from the no-contract price (just like the old system), but you may now upgrade anytime and pay for the difference PLUS the new contract price out-of-pocket.
Example:
If I wanted to upgrade to the 9780 right now, I would calculate it like this:
A. Find the no-contract price for the phone ($500)
B. Take the number of months you've been in your contract (22 for me) and multiply by $15 [this is your upgrade credit]
C. Find the new contract price for the phone (~$80)
So your out of pocket cost for upgrading would be $500-$330+$80 = $250; the $80 would be paid in-store while the remainder would be on your bill.

It appears that the remaining fee applied to your bill can be distributed over some months? Would this be correct?
IE: I'm only 7 months in, but F'ing hate my I-9000 (Like to install vanilla android and play, and Samsung is the absolute worst for this with Touchwiz integration and locked up hardware drivers) but more than pleased with Bell.
