Camera on the Incredible enhances the sky

The Incredible camera adds a blue color when you take pictures of the sky. Does it have a polarized filter on the lens?

Is there a way to take a picture of something that would reveal definitively if it had a polarized lens? I would assume that's the only way, but not sure of what you could use as a test subject.

take a picture through a clear glass with your subject behind it, polarized lens is to make the glass disappear kinda like

Here are two pictures I took this morning you can see what I am talking about. They are both unedited pictures I just cropped them to get the same part of the picture in the shot.

Polarized filters only allow for all light to get through, or no light to get through. It doesn't affect color, but there could be a thin film that throw the colors off though.

I'm guessing that the light filter on the lens is allowing for more blue light to get through.
Could the lens of the camera be colored?

Ummm... No. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarizer Polarizers, in laymans terms, cut out "glare". There's more to it than that, but that's the biggest visual difference you will see when putting on a pair of polarized sunglasses. If polarizers only allowed for all or none of light to get through, those sunglasses would be completely black.

I believe the camera just massively over saturates the colors. You can adjust the saturation (and I would suggest turning down the sharpness as well - the full size images are horribly over sharpened) on the camera. Try that and see what you get.

The pictures from the phone have a heavy crop on them to match the pictures from the camera. I never thought of checking the settings. I will give it a try.

    Thanks

what I meant to say OS that polarized lenses don't have much effect on color. Sorry if I made it sound like an all or nothing affair.

Depends on you definition of "much effect". I've seen polarizers turn a muddy brown lake blue. It's surprising how much of an effect they can have on color, although I really doubt the Incredible has a filter on it.

I adjusted my Contrast and Saturation down one notch each on the camera and it's closer to reality now.
