Ok, did some more thinking and digging, and it came to me last night at the Royals game (what a time to not be near my systems) and I tried it today.
There is a way to do MP3 ringtones from the SD card (tadaa!) create your ringtone in the usual manner, and this time instead of giving it the .qcp extension and emailing it (which yes could possibly be blocked by VM) give it a .3g2 extension and drop it in the DCIM folder with your pix and videos.
Now go to the phone and under main menu -> tools -> file manager browse to the picture folder and click the 'more' button. Scroll down and find 'assign' click that and assign it to incoming calls and then one contact.
This might be similar to a workaround for other phones, but they had you go through movie maker and other programs. Me I like to see if the direct route works first
Give it a try and let me know how it works, also bit rate and samples...lets push this and see what we can do
