I've seen in Bill23's signature it says "DroidPro", but from the (very limited) posts that refer to DroidPro, it doesn't sound like it's the same device as the Droid 2, Shadow, etc.
So, what exactly is the "DroidPro"?

My guess is it's what Bill used to refer to as the 'October phone', which my deduction has determined that it has been pushed back to as the 'December phone'. Long story short, what I BELIEVE is that it is Moto's flagship phone they are setting to release in Q4 that will make Shadow and Droid2 look like toys.
Of course, that's just my assumption using deductive reasoning. I have no proof of this claim, so take it for what it's worth.
Pretty good assumption/guess if I must so so myself.Originally Posted by ChocoTaco369

there is certainly no good info out there, and considering this is pegged to come after the droid2 and the shadow, which we still havent even seen a pic or official specs on, you are going to have to settle for wild speculations as to what droidpro is.
Here is my idea: I think its probably Verizon's first android LTE phone, and obviously gonna be made by motorola. Prolly gonna try to get it out for christmas time, with slightly updated specs (>1ghz? 1gb ram?) compared to droid2/shadow, but with that ever important addition of 4g.
I'm guessing that the Droid Pro won't have lte and the phone after it will be moto's lte device.
That's my guess as well. I'm guessing Motorola's Q4 phone will not have LTE and whatever phone they release in Q1/Q2 will. I'm guessing the DroidPro won't have LTE, but rather tons of memory, internal storage, Froyo or Gingerbread and other goodies.Originally Posted by d1andONLYm

I'm thinking too that they could have a 4G phone by the end of this year.
It was mentioned in an article Google Tablets being available by the end of this year, and they can be updated/upgraded to use lte when lte finally comes.
Why not the same thing for a 4G phone? Have it come out later this year, and it can be updated/upgraded later.
All I'll say is LTE should be seen before years end. not that we will have access to the service yet mind you, but I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see some type of hardware that can use LTE
I agree, but I doubt it'll be a handset. Just look at Sprint. They've had WiMAX for months, the Overdrive unit for months and still no WiMAX handset. The EVO is taking its sweet time to release. I'm sure Verizon will be like that - some type of Overdrive-type unit in Q4 and a handset in late Q1/Q2.Originally Posted by Aixelsyd
I take that to mean we will get a phone that's LTE capable but Verizon won't enable it. Right?Originally Posted by Aixelsyd
That would be fine with me.
What I really want now is a Nexus Two with a motorola radio that is LTE capable with CDMA and GSM built in and a 4.3" screen. I was completely sold on the idea of the Nexus One, but the execution just missed for me. Especially because only TMobile costs less with an unsubsidized phone.
LTE is a very new technology. The chips are very, very expensive to produce when compared to CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, etc. If Verizon had an LTE capable handset, the LTE chip would add considerable cost to the device, making it very expensive to produce. The idea of an LTE phone with the LTE disabled makes no sense at a business level because someone would be eating a huge amount of cost unnecessarily.Originally Posted by drhill26
There is no way that would happen. If we get an LTE phone anytime soon, it will be LTE capable from the start. There's no way someone is going to lock down that feature.
