They also have to keep in mind that consumers will only justify their higher rates (compared to other carriers) by saying "you get what you pay for" to a certain extent. Verizon knows this, and they obviously aren't going to price their plans to a point where they lose subscribers. Especially at the launch of an emerging technology.

I think they said data products, which in my opinion could also include the tablets rumored to be coming out. In my opinion, it would be completely idiotic not to launch the Moto tablet at Christmas time with LTE. Regardless of the status of Gingerbread.

I personally don't think we'll see an LTE smartphone hit the market until first quarter, but I think we will see a fairly decent rush of LTE smartphones (5-7) in the first half of 2011.
Data will be tiered for data cards as soon as they drop. There is no question about this subject, regardless of what the press reports and what verizon is officially saying. I know internally of meetings discussing nothing but this topic and it always ends the same: its coming. The only question remaining on the table is how it will apply to smartphones, of course.

I completely agree about the idiocracy of letting the Christmas season go without a HUGE device drop. Droid was that cash cow last year, moto wont let this one go. It would spell death for the company. They cant make it year to year without a christmas hit. They just cant.

My heart wants to disagree with your LTE phone prediction, but my mind has to sorrowfully agree. I do however, think that this isnt in verizons hands. I know that the LTE markets are ready to go, and that they are on the "flip the switch" basis right now. Some of the 30 major launch markets have had their gear installed for months. So my point is that verizon, as far as i can tell, is really at the point where they can wash their hands of the phone situation. I think its solely on the phone manufactures to show the goods.

Is there any more info on what it might include? Has it been confirmed that it is a querty device? If so is it a slide, or fixed keyboard, and which way does it slide? (landscape or potrait?)

Sucks. I gave in yesterday and ordered an Droid X. Now I'm thinking I should cancel and wait for the Pro in November. I wish I knew more about the phone. I don't really want a physical keyboard, so if it has that I'd probably stick with the X. Decisions, decisions...

Its going to have a keyboard. With a 4 inch screen I doubt it will be a portrait slider. Probably a landscaper slider just like the droid.

This is perfect for me. I've had my Z6c WE for three years and appreciated the ability to travel abroad with the phone.
I held off on getting the droid1 last year because of the bluetooth dialing issue that has been (finally) fixed in Froyo.
I can wait for November. I've waited this long...

Just agreeing with this post. Both the mess part as well as that they are the same phone.

So you are claiming these screenshots are basically a hoax or fabrication of some variety rather than an actual leak? Or there will be a Droid2 WE and a Droid Pro that WAS a Droid WE. It could very well be a hoax, but inclusion of white droids in the hoax would be what I just don't see a hoaxer dreaming up.

The screenshots seem to indicate that there will be a Droid 2 World Edition (MOT A956WE) as well as a Droid Pro device(MOT A957).
From other rumors I've read online, the anticipation is that the Droid Pro device will also include the same capability of the World Edition phones- that is, an extra radio and a SIM card slot for use on overseas bands.

I'm not trying to argue about rumors and hearsay, just going over the evidence at hand.

The only thing we can count on for sure is that we'll all see for sure what Motorola is up to in the weeks/months ahead.
