Just a heads up for anybody who was sitting on the fence about adding the unlimited mobile browser option but missed out before Bell pulled it from the market. If you are eligible for some sort of discount through an EPP on the UMB, THEY CAN STILL ADD IT ON.
Don't know how long this will last for since it no longer is listed at Baka's site under my plan details. I called up Bell last night and was speaking to somebody in the business department and they said the system still allowed them to add the $5 UMB to my new account if I wanted to set it up last night (f@#x#ng right I did!!!). So I ordered 2 samsung impacts. I just need to find out whether I can switch back and forth between a Touch (2G) and the Impact (3G)... I've seen some HTC's for $50 on kijiji in the past.
Now I just gotta get rid of my Mike phone or cancel the contract with a $240 ETF... funny thing is, with both my Mike package and my wfe's Telus PCS package, the difference between canceling and just keeping it as a second phone is hardly anything ($28 one phone, $25 for the other after taxes).
Despite a couple of bad experiences with Bell many years back (coverage issues, not so much billing like everybody else), I'm coming back to give them another chance... 3rd time's the charm
$25(no SAF) for a plan with unlimited text and unlimited internet was hard to turn down![]()

Even at $10, simply being able to get it NOW is good because it isn't available any more. If you have an HTML browser and can stream videos, the new 50mb plan for $15 may not cut it.
How would one switch between a Touch(CDMA) and Impact(HSPDA)? Do you do this through your Bell's online account?
Here's a related question:
If you were able to get the Bliss(CDMA) through a HUG would you be able to switch back and forth with a Touch and not lose the UMB?
Yes I believe so but only if you do it over eCare, like previously mentioned, doing it with a rep usually results in a few features screwing up LOLOriginally Posted by MethodMan

So my phones came in and lo and behold, NO FRIGGIN' UMB on the contract!
I'll make another attempt tonight (through a couple of connections) to get this add-on, but it's starting to look like one or both phones are getting shipped back friday.
what does ecare say?
On contract terms and responsibilities and getting the right information:
When youre talking about signing a contract for 3 years that will in the end may potentially cost you 20x X number of months you really should do everything to protect yourself.
typical...anything to get the sale.Originally Posted by ProBoner

Sammy740: It's ironically called BlueChips...something Bell isn't.
Bell's new marketing slogan: Over promise, Under deliver.
"System Access Fees are charged by all wireless companies to help pay for the network and the ongoing software, technology and other upgrades to that network. Generally, the higher the fee, the greater the opportunity to invest in network quality to enhance your experience. Just one more reason to choose Bell. "
