it may just be a 1650 or even a 1550.. but what matters to many is the longer battery life that it gives out.
anyways back to the main subject, i hope they have worked on some of blur's bugs. when it crashes on a devour you have to rebot in order for your contacts to display again
People get all hyped up on speculative release dates so much it becomes "official" (wasn't the release date for the vzw N1 supposed to be 23Mar or something??? haha) and then get themselves let down when that information proves to be false. All that stuff makes it hard to read these threads.
There's a difference between a date that someone just makes up and it turns into a rumor and a leaked release date that people call a rumor.
I just hate that people 'on the inside' tip us information and some of you guys act like its made up stuff or speculation.
As far as the Verizon N1, it was supposed to be released but Google changed their mind at the last minute and cancelled it altogether. The information was accurate before it was cancelled.
Nope that date was always speculative, there was never a confirmed release date. Guess you're not immune to the hype either.
Everytime you don't read the thread before asking your silly question, Verizon delays a new cellphone. Yes, Verizon did just robbed you.
HAHAHAHA! yeah I'm laughing at you!

I think they have. I just gave my Dad a Devour that has updated software on it and have not heard a complaint from him yet about it and he has had it for 3 wks now. Don't recall what the update was tho as a friend of a friend took care of it for me before I sold it.
People care. That's why phones like the DROID are called DROID instead of A855.
Technically I believe it is called the Droid A855, Droid speaking to the name of the line of motorola Android based handsets, I could be wrong.
From a marketing perspective you're correct, companies understand that the name of a product is important to market said product, i.e. Droid as opposed to A855. But from a consumer standpoint, whoever doesn't buy any phone because of the name is a special breed. Looks, ok...but name, gtfoh, unless it's called something offensive, or feminine which (see statement above) most companies are smart enough not to do.
It could be called Shadow, Pee Wee Herman, Thingamajig, doesn't matter to me. Performance, looks, comfort, reception is what matters.
what do you think motorola might add to this device as a "hardware change?"...im hoping for front-facing cam and a hummingbird gpu (aka Power SGX 540)
It really can't be a SOC change, that would put a release back a lot more than a month. I also doubt it is a significant structural change like a front facing camera - although that would be cool.
I recall Winston saying something about a possible hardware change way back in the original thread - something about a hardware change, a vendor change, that would decrease battery drain but not change the phone significantly. The only thing that comes to my mind that would decrease battery drain is Amoled instead of LCD - but I really have no idea.

yea...but that is still a pretty major design change...with what you explained I would assume something like underclocking the cpu...but that doesn't take and extra month. Who knows? (u know other than Bill23 and wnrussell )
question, is there gonna be a physical keyboard or is it purely a touchscreen phone? Also, my friend and a best buy worker are confusing me. Is the Motorola Shadow the Droid 2 or are the Shadow and Droid 2 two separate phones? If they're different phones, I wanna wait and compare them.
if this bad boy is confirmed to have wifi, im getting it hands down. I'm getting it for the most part, but that would just be defining factor. (fingers crossed)

Verizon mandated that all smartphones they carry have to have wifi some 2 years ago. There hasn't been a single Verizon smartphone without wifi since the George W. Bush Administration. There is no chance the Shadow won't have wifi as it is against Verizon Wireless policy to not have wifi on a smartphone.

It's guaranteed to have Wi-Fi. Since the Tour, I don't know a single VZW smartphone that doesn't have Wi-Fi.

+1, exactly ... and we already know that the MB810 (Shadow), received its certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance for wireless standard 802.11 b/g/n
