LG 100c the $29 phone - cant get ringtones -

i am trying to get mp3 ringtones on this phone and its not letting me, its saying "file not supported" and i know the ringtones that came with the phone are mp3 ringtones.. like wth? can anyone please help me. thanks.

I was able to get mp3 files to work as the phone's ringtone. First it has to be rather small in file size. Make it mono instead of stereo and lower the bit rate. Then change the file extension from .mp3 to .mid. Next upload it to the internet so that you can download it to the phone using it's web browser. Then select and save it and you should be able to use it as your ringtone.
