If straight talk uses verizon then how come on the straight talk website when you try to purchase a sim card it tells you * SIM card will only work with an AT&T or T-mobile compatible or unlocked GSM phone*? I am thinking of purchasing an Iphone to use in Western NC but am not sure if I should get an unlocked AT@T or Verizon phone. Verizon has always seemed to have the best coverage in the areas I travel ( Western NC, East Tn, and lower Va and Ky). Will getting a Verizon or AT@T iphone dictate better coverage? Thanks
Apparently Verizon will not allow ST to run ANY smartphones on the Verizon network. If you somehow got an Iphone on to ST it would use a massive amount of data compared to everything else running on Verizon and you would be quickly detected and kicked off (loosing your remaining airtime)

I believe you are reffering to a micro SD card, there is no such thing as a micro sim card that I am aware of and sim cards are smart chips that make the phone work where as a Micro SD card is a memory card used for you to stre files on from your phone like pictures and apps and things.
Thank you for your interest in Straight Talk Wireless. We are responding
to your recent inquiry.
The LG Optimus Q phone is powered by Sprint. This is the only tower that
can support this handset.
and also this one
Please be informed that the LG Optimus 2x phone is powered by T-Mobile.
this came straight from their customer service...they do use t-mobile, sprint, at&t and verizon
YES, the sim card is a micro sim, this is a "roaming" sim card. It is useless in the US. what that means is that VZN and Sprint which are CDMA, dont use the sim cards in the US, but if you got to a foreign country then this sim card which has been linked to your account will be able to roam on the GSM networks of other countries(with whom VZN and Sprint already have roaming contracts), and you could then pay the outrageous roaming charges to yours truly VZN and Sprint. You could also call VZN, after 60 days after having the Iphone, and if you pay your bills ontime and are in good standing, then they will unlock the sim, and you can then use a prepaid sim from another company internationaaly, similar thing applies for sprint too.
So If I get a Verizon 4S it can be used with a Straight talk sim card on AT&T?
It seems like you can bring your own GSM phone and be put on their GSM networks. If you are on the GSM networks (att/tmobile) are you able to access them interchangeably? For instance, if you fall off tmobile, do you roam to att or do you just get one or the other?
