I love my Eris. I have no reason to complain or to seek an upgrade. Battery life isn't the best but I have a charger with me at work so my phone almost always has full battery.

I never owned one but I think it was. It is always nice to have variety.

I have the HTC Hero / pretty much the same phone.

Have to say I'm pretty happy with it. Love Android because of the customization and flexibility.

I did get tired of waiting for the official 2.1 update so I rooted it and haven't looked back. I was still running 1.5 (eek!) but am now running a custom ROM based on 2.1 and am waiting for something based on 2.2. There is some progress being made here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688523

I wouldn't mind having one as a spare.

I had the Eris before the Droid. It worked fine (mostly) except the camera and unlock/answer screen. I liked it ok
