September is here, where's the clarification? CKD hasn't talked to his DM to clue us in on 2010? These big panels ought to be in plain sight by now.

kupe, lte is not happening this weekend or by Monday. 4 months left in the year and still no confirmed markets but a leaked lightning bolt map gives hope.
Kupe, don't feed the troll...
I'm sure I'll be asked for proof, etc, which I cannot give. I don't want to harm my sources. I will say that I am 100% certain OKC is set to launch as one of the initial markets to have LTE.
A few interesting facts about Verizon in Oklahoma:
-Tulsa LTE will NOT be launched until Q2-Q3 of next year.
-Oklahoma City AND SUBURBS (Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon) WILL be included, to some extent, in the November launch. It will NOT be limited to the OU stadium, the Ford Center (where the Thunder play), etc. 700mhz antennas are installed at just about every VZW cell site I've seen in the area. The launch in OKC and surrounding areas will cover all but the more remote areas where backhaul is a challenge. Those areas will take longer.
-Backhaul in OKC is being provided by Cox Business (metro ethernet). Apparently, the two companies worked out a deal that is sweet for both parties. Verizon is new in the area and doesn't have fiber in the ground here, whereas Cox needs cheap tower space for their AWS network they are deploying here. Most of Verizon's cell sites here are owned by Alltel Newco, which is now Verizon. Cox has a very healthy fiber footprint here, where as Qwest and Verizon do not. (Qwest is providing backhaul in many of the areas where Verizon has less fiber in the ground.)
-Oklahoma City has no 1900mhz service running on Verizon. It's all 800 at this point, and of course the 700mhz for LTE. Tulsa, on the other hand, is PCS only.
-VZW has something like 100mhz of spectrum to play with in OKC. That's a whole lot for a city this size.
Food for thought...
Marky, gives is more. There a lots more markets that need some clarfication.
Give us more?
Thrill me...
ah, ok. I don't really have more info on other markets, although I'm sure i can find out. I was really just interested in the market in which I live, hence the ridiculous amount of time I spent gathering information before posting it.
I'll see what else I can find out, but I won't post anything if I can't be sure about it. I'm excited that OKC is getting something FIRST for once. that doesn't happen to us often.

It looks like that last 45 days of the year prediction has a lot of truth to it, wonder if the (only hofo) prediction of 120M pops holds true too? Verizon needs another showing like the one from Boston a few months back.
