yamanote was this a B787? Or did ANA already have a crazy Japanese toilet on their other planes? And how did you take pictures without people noticing your shutter sound?

This was a refitted 763 iirc. Not a new plane I think.

The 787 HKG-NRT flight was a one off for the launch so the crew could get used to the plane on a shorter route- that craft operates FRA-TYO (not sure if it's NRT or HND) now.

I didn't take any pictures of the 787 I was on to Osaka-Itami, mainly because I knew the interior would be very similar to that of the HKG flight (the 787 had the domestic product, i.e. the Cradle, not the international config with the Staggered) so I figured I should just take in the new plane smell since it was just an hour long

The n-06c's shutter sound is a very brief 'chak' and the speaker isn't very loud so people didn't really notice

OK, you got a better flight than I did the last time I flew ANA in business. For Shanghai-Narita their J seat is basically the domestic Japan "premium class" seat with a TV (no iPod port or anything). The meal wasn't exactly wonderful either. For something that costs 6000RMB each way on a paid ticket... no thank you. I used frequent flyer miles for that. And frankly, I see myself taking advantage of their "weekender tickets" (leave Friday/Saturday, return Sunday/Monday and fares get slashed almost in half) to see Japan in the future when I run out of points.

Their Shanghai-Haneda flight is on a slightly nicer plane.

    ANA Business-II?

That's actually their short and medium haul international product. That was the type of seat on my HKG-NRT flight last August- I actually found it pretty nice. Certainly better than the JAL Skyluxe

Lexus LS. Very nice. Quiet and smooth- the exact opposite of a cab ride in Hong Kong
I need to get a ride on one of those elusive Century taxis one day...

Am at Kichijoji today and as you would expect on a Sunday the place is packed.

We've started using PRIUS here in Australia - well Melbourne at least. Should keep the roads quieter and greener.

Didn't Hong Kong use BMW back then for taxis?

Nice. Lots of those in Tokyo too- huge variety of taxis ranging from Comforts to Nissan Fugas to Century's. Those hybrids are eerily quiet

I don't think we've ever had BMW taxis. The folks at the Nurburgring have (had?) M5 taxis though

Happy Easter to you too !

I hope you got to enjoy the sakura at the nearby inokashira park... They were wonderful last year.

I was at Ueno but way way way too crowded:

Unfortunately I did not have enough time... I only got there at 3pm. Went to several shops, lined up for the beef balls at Satou, went to the huge Yodobashi (seems as large as the one at Akiba!) and by that time it was already nightfall. I'll probably visit Shinjuku Gyoen sometime in the next few days though.
