Yes, I've found several issues with the BB 8530 that have to do with Virgin Mobile specifically. Can we get a sub for them because asking about them in the BB forum get confusing. For example VM does not offer html BIS support at this time, but they tell me they will. However if I had asked here(in sub) it would have saved me several hours. And to be sure I would save other the same grief. Service books...WTF etc!

I'd like to see the Deals thread made sticky. Or perhaps close that one and give it a better title, one that discourage would meandering deal discussions, like the following.

"Oh, I wish I could get that deal at Best Shack. I just bought the same phone last week at Radio Buy and the price was $10 higher. The salesperson was really nice and showed me about where to find batteries for my flashlight!"

"I don't know why anyone would buy the Innuendo 2000, even at that price. Everyone knows that phones made by TalkMeister are awful."

Since Helio is gone you could remove the Virgin Mobile Contract (Formerly Helio) sub-forum. No one has posted their in a while and in my opinion its kinda useless. Not a big deal though.

Personally I would suggest you leave the Helio Subforum there since many people are still flashing the devices over to BYOD Carriers and some of the stickies provide much needed information.
Left Virgin for Helio and all it had to offer... Only to get "acquired" back to virgin again... slowly loosing everything I switched for. Then came a light at the end of the tunnel when we got "acquired" yet again by sprint... sadly they brought us nothing and took from us everything, so as the ship sank I stayed aboard and then on the 23rd I quickly ported over to boost... and I'm the happiest I've ever been.

RIP HELIO... you were set-up to fail but it was fun while it lasted.

A sub-forum for Virgin mifi and 3G dongles would be nice.

Sub-forums are usually only created if the amount of traffic/posting on that topic deems it necessary. In this case, I have certainly not seen enough activity on this topic to justify a sub-forum.

There are too many stickies in this forum! I have a 22" monitor (set to 1680x1050) and the only way I can see updates to non-sticky threads is by scrolling down. It would be great to be able to open the forum and see immediately whether there are any updates. I could do that if there weren't so many sticky threads.

Sounds like you need to set your resolution a little higher then, lol. (just kidding)

There's 5 stickies... I don't feel like that's a lot. The subforums being listed at the top takes up more space. I'll review what all is here and see if we can get rid of some of it, can't make any promises though.

Suggest you add "Phones not made for VM won't work on the VM network" to the title of the FAQ thread, since it might spare us 1 or 2 threads a week about activating non-VM phones on the service.

I really think the idea of having one giant "sprint" thread on Howardforums, with Virgin and Boost "sub" haedings doesn't make any sense. I'd like to see it go back to the way it was a long time ago (seperate Virgin and Boost forums, NOT under a sprint heading).

I would like to suggest a sub-forum for smartphones now that Virgin has them. It seems like most of the traffic is centered around the Intercept, BB, RT (not really smartphone but wants to be one), and future Android devices. I bet that sub-forum could really take off, especially if we eased the rules about modifying our phones since this is a huge part of Android to begin with and this discussion is allowed in other forums on HoFo.

There are changes in the works that will be forum wide which may address your issue. Not sure how soon it will happen, but the staff here is working on ways to better "streamline" the content here at Hofo.

At this point, the only discussion would be happening in the smartphones section, as not much else has been discussed here. I don't want or need to spend my day moving threads from the general VM section to the smarphone VM section, as its obvious many readers don't notice what is above the area where they can post (for example--the rules and FAQ's). The changes in the works I mention in my post above will also address this issue somewhat though, we hope.

As for discussion of modifying phones, that as fine--no one has ever said such discussion is not allowed. What is not allowed is discussion of illegal/warez software and ESN changing. As long as discussions don't get into those topics, modify away.

Update the FAQ due to no mention of the Intercept. For example, 3rd Party Apps question.
