Have you read the rules lately? They're usually in a sticky at the top of the page.
If you have a problem with a post for any reason, please report it rather than responding to it, and a moderator will be along shortly.
Any chance of an Android forum or an Android development forum similar to how the MetroPCS boards are set up? It seems like with the influx of smart phones there are more and more questions about these topics and rerouting them might make it easier for members without smart phones to get the information they need and vise versa.
It's a possibility for the future.
Even though it was grammatically incorrect and I'm usually a stickler for that sort of thing, I miss the old title of the "Deals" thread. (~ Know of any VM deals? Post it here!) It gave the place some homespun charm, like a hometown cafe with the specials written on a chalkboard by a gum-cracking waitress. Oh well.![]()
^^Title changed back, just for you, lol.![]()
Also added the VM Android Devices subforum. Will be continuing to move threads on Android device specific issues as I have time.
Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Android; Opera Mini/6.1.25577/25.697; U; en) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54)
I've said it before, but having boost and virgin under the same Sprint menu is bizarre. Too many menus and sub menus. the top menus under us prepaid should be;
BOOST Mobile (Sprint)
Virgin Mobile (Sprint)
etc.
Martin:
I see your obvious frustration with people posting Android threads in the main forum. My suggestion would be to mimic the setup of the Boost forum, and have a "Virgin Mobile Non-Android" and a "Virgin Mobile Android" sub-forum with no main VMUSA sub-forum. People would be forced to click one or the other before they post content.
I would see a potential problem with that type of arrangement. (Billing, signal and data outages are 3 examples.) Where do issues with the service that are NOT specific to either type of handset get posted? If the answer to that question is the Non-Android forum, then those general issues will create a different off-topic problem if they are posted in the Android forum!
IMO, a new Virgin Mobile SERVICE subforum would need to be created if the subforums are renamed the way you describe.
Churner has it pretty much spot on. With Boost it was an easy call, as the two services use a completely different network, and even had some slight differences in the plans offered on each for a little while. In this case, it is all still Virgin Mobile, the only difference is the os the phones run... Besides, if a person isn't capable of noticing the Android Devices subforum when it's up at the top of the page, I'm not inclined to think they'll be able to choose the right forum to post in even if they have to choose between two options. LOL
Hello,
I am wondering if a "new posts" section on the side or under a heading is appropriate - this would help skim what posts are new / likewise - a section of "most answered" posts or "most read" posts may help guide towards topics of higher mutual interest. Thanks for your time.
Threads with new posts in them (or new threads) since your last visit are designated by having their titles bolded. As for the most read/viewed, there is a count to the right of the thread titles that shows how many replies and views. The "must read" stuff is generally stickied at the top of the page (such as this thread, as well as the rules and FAQ, etc). In many cases, those stickied threads will have links to other important threads. What you've asked for would be a forum-wide change if it were to happen, so if you want to make that request I'd suggest that you post in the Forum feedback section if you'd like. Hope this helps.
Sometimes this breaks, so I just scroll down until I start seeing my username in the "last post by" section.
The guy's thinking ahead, though![]()
FAQ Suggestion:
Q: I have an iPhone I bought from some other provider, can I bring it to Virgin Mobile for service?
A: No. Virgin Mobile does not allow customers to activate iPhones from any other provider on their network. You'll have to buy a Virgin Mobile branded iPhone to use it here.
