Problem with Droid messaging app

I send a message to my phone using the email address number@vtext.com. I open up the Messaging app and I see only the first part of the message, on the bottom of the screen. The top of the screen has the sending email address with a little Android logo next to it, but between this and the truncated message is a large area of blank screen. I can't scroll to see the rest of the message, and the menu button doesn't help.

SMS messages are limited to 160 characters, and that's what I'm getting. I didn't know that! I guess the message processor is not smart enough to break it into smaller messages.

Just email yourself instead, no limit.
