I was just inside a Wind Location and it appears they have updated thier magazines. Inside they revealed that very soon they will be offereing the Pearl 9100. Maybe Windsider could illuminate on this?
What exactly would you like illuminated? You saw the brochure already, right?

A new magazine did indeed just come out. I didn't realize that the Blackberry Pearl 9100 would be mentioned in it. In any case, yes, I can confirm that the Pearl 9100 is indeed going to be the RIM phone launching in July that I referred to previously.
To a couple of the other questions:
I don't have too much detailed information on the continued Ontario build out. I can say that the network improvement and expansion is a very high priority. Someone mentioned (possibly in a different thread) that they are upset that Wind is building new areas, and not improving the existing ones. The challenge facing Wind is that there are also many people who are upset that Wind has not come to their city yet. While the build out is progressing at quite a rapid pace, it is still a very new network that will require time to get perfect.
A question about there being different promos was asked. Yes, there will be a number of promos through June and into July, other than what has currently been mentioned. The Everybody Winds promo is the biggest of these though. If you look at the past few months, Wind comes out with new promotions quite often, even if they are limited to a single day or a certain area. This trend will continue, although none of the upcoming ones that I know of are worth making a special note of.
Hopefully I haven't missed anyone's question. I think I've covered all the exciting info at least. Good luck to Wind Vancouver with their launch tomorrow!
Thanks Windsider. We know in some ways you have to hold back on some info, especially if they're not even confirmed yet.
Looking forward to the launch tomorrow. The only major concern about WIND that I have is the overloaded call centre. It's not good for teh customers and I don't think it's good for employee morale.
I am hoping to buy a new smartphone in August before school starts.. but of course this will depend on their phone selection and whether or not they finally improve their coverage at Carleton University. I'd consider a BB but too bad Wind doesn't allow the 50MB data plan on them... I'm hoping for maybe a Nokia E73, N8, or an HTC MyTouch Slide

That makes sense, but upsetting current Wind customers eg, customers that live in areas with limited coverage or still having 50% of Markham with no coverage can do more damage then setting up the network in areas where people don't even have a taste of the network yet. Current Wind customers that are suffering with these issues are the same people that will tell their friends and family to avoid Wind. Yes, it's nice that Kingston/Waterloo, Niagara and London will have coverage in the future, but they should take care of their current customers before expanding.
Sometimes it makes me feel like Wind is so eager to expand and become a national carrier that they leave a lot of gaps everywhere in their build-outs in the GTA. It's like Wind just wants to say, "We now have coverage in London!", "We now have coverage in K/W!" But with large gaps in between every tower.
I know things will eventually get a lot better for Wind. I wouldn't of stayed with them from the beginning if they didn't.
Anyways, enough of my ranting, thanks for the info Windsider.
So the Wind is blowing/sailing into Vancouver. They are certainly expanding quickly. So far there have been lots of growing pains, but I think most of this (not all) can be expected. The call centre is a problem that will be difficult to fix unless they contract out for 6 months while many of their issues get settled. The problem, of course, is the expense. No way Wind will ever be able to compete with Robellus on "live" customer service. It's just too expensive. Frankly, my guess is that most of their customers would prefer to wait 30 minutes for a CSR than pay an extra $5 per month for service. From a CS perspective, they've absolutely got to improve their self-serve options and website. Low cost CS is critical to maintaining low rates. It's got to be killing them right now.
As for geographical growth as opposed to filling holes and improving stability, they need growth. Growth, unfortuneatly also means more strain on CS. They also need growth in subs to demonstrate the validity of their plan for financing.
I think they've got competitive pricing based on their network, but should fill in the void and offer a $25 voice option and also offer an email add on for their social BB.

Unless they outsource their customer service to somewhere like India. It will save them a lot of money, but will probably anger customers even more.
Wow, I'm kind of surprised that Winnipeg and Peterborough is on the list. But what good way to stick it to the competition by launching where they can't (Public Mobile and Mobilicity doesn't have spectrum in Manitoba).
Why are you surprised? Winnipeg is one of the largest cities (8th largest) in Canada. It makes sense to hit up Winnipeg as soon as they can.
Peterborough is a little surprising. But sensible, given that it won't take much to cover Peterborough and their proximity to the GTA Home Zone means that Wind can cover most of the usage of Peterborough residents and add functionality for GTA residents who cottage in the Kawarthas. Plus, at 75000 residents, Peterborough is actually one of the larger towns in Ontario (beyond the major cities and their suburbs).
I'm surprised because while all the other cities have had evidence of WIND activity (via CNAC local exchange number assignment, Industry Canada tower info, and actual reports of HOME coverage). Not that I don't expect them to be in Winnipeg, but I wasn't expecting to be there in the near future (by the end of the year).
