I have a new Kyocera Loft from Virgin Mobile. I will not go into the headache and lost phone number trying to port to this carrier ( I had to take a new number )...but that is another story.
I have tried to send ring tones as attachments to my email on the phone. The mails arrive and I can see attachments but cannot find any way to save them or apply them as a ring tone. Virgin Mobile could not find anyone with a clue. They say look at the manual but there is nothing in that either.
Does anyone know how to save an attachment? I thought this was supposed to be a multi-media capable phone but it seems to be one-way only...out.
I am beginning to think I made a mistake with this phone. I like it for the most part but it seems crippled in some respects in that you can't receive MMS only send it out.
"Unlimited" is kind of a misnomer because you are limited by the device itself.
If you change the extension from .mp3 to .qcp you'll have the option of saving it to Voice Memo, but I haven't been able to play files saved there in this way and they can't be set as ring tones either. I think we're stuck with paying for additional ring tones from Virgin on this phone.
I wanna see how exactly the phone handles storing purchased content and maybe work a way around it to download mp3 files to use as ringtones...the bluetooth works great when pushing contact cards but not pictures and sounds...ugh. I like the phone a lot but would give anything to be able to fully customize it like i did my old Verizon phone. Let's hope there's a way to work around this handicap.
if you want to play it you will have to convert the .mp3 to .qcp using one-click ringtone converter and send it to your phone using mms but it still cant be set as ringtone
Upgrade to opera mini 5.1.. little tricky to do. On your phone, go to opera's actual website and find it through there.
Then send your attachment to a yahoo email account. On opera, open the email and download the attachment. It will ask you where you want to save it. Select music.
When you go to your email address click on the options button on your mobile phone after clicking on the attachment click save items on this page. If the ring tone is to big then it wont allow you to. Upload it on your pc then transfer it via bluetooth. If your pc doesn't have bluetooth get a bluetoothe dongle and enable bluetooth then transfer it that way. But click save sound then go into your saved sounds and assign, assign the ringtone.
My daghter just got one of the lofts. She keeps neaking or losing phones so I told her you get a cheap one this time and if something happens to it then she's done, she buys the next one.
this is a simple fix.do what the previous person siad and download opera five.one from their website.you can download mp three files and jpg files right to your phone.it was a little simple to find it for me but i can no longer find the download link so maybe vmobile blocked it but idk.but opera mini five point.one would be the way to go if you want free full songs and or ringtones.the down side is putting in numbers and symbols because im using it right now and can input numbers.hope you can get this app
