Exclamation Swollen P902i battery - help!!!!

Hello, I just found my old P902i phone somewhere in my drawer... I wanted to turn it on, but it didn´t work a then I realized that the battery in the phone is swollen... is it safe to charge it? If not, is there a battery (not from Japanese phone) which will work with it? I really like this phone and I´d like to use it

battery has some busted cells that's leaking. You should dispose of the battery properly and discontinue use. Time to buy a new one.

    It's all good (^_^)

Well... but I have no idea where to buy it... is there a non-Japanese phone which uses the same type of battery??? Oh, by the way, I just wanted to try if the phone still works or not... will it be dangerous if I put it on charge for about five minutes???

It generally is. Leaking cells is a bad thing, If you charge it and the cells expand some more but don't do anything then you are lucky; but if you charge it and the cells expand too far the battery and your phone will detonate and explode into pieces of plastic and battery acid everywhere. Then you'll have a not so fun mess to clean up.

hmm, yes. i wouldnt consider charging the battery in the first place. swollen batteries are very dangerous and i advise you to dispose of it properly and get a new one. better safe than sorry.

Well, I tried to charge it two times... nothing happened, the phone works, but I think the battery has expanded a bit more during the second charge. I am not going to charge it anymore and I have already bought a new battery for it:-)
