    Slow Mobilicity Data

Anyone getting decent speeds on Mobilicity? I'm lucky to get over 1Mbps down, even Wind's data is faster when it works

Wow....I plan to get a N1 and try out mobilicity but your experience is making me think twice. In the mobilicity and tethering thread all the speeds seem pretty slow as well.

    Where are you located?

I'm at King and Strachan. Have also tried in Scarborough at Finch and Kennedy.

Oh, should have mentioned that I'm not tethering, using a data stick.

At this time, I wanted to perform a speedtest for the Mobilicity speedtest (at www.speedtest.net) to post a screenshot, but can't right now since it is not able to get reception. Had to go back to the Rogers mobile stick internet service to post a reply to this thread.

At this time it is 2010-06-01, 21:00 Eastern time.
Location: York Mills and Don Mills area.

I'm sure the reception issue is just temporary so I will post a screenshot of a speedtest when reception is back again.

BTW, hardware in use is the WindMobile stick the Huawei E181 unlocked. Confirmed it works with Rogers/Fido simcard, WindMobile and Mobilicity.

Here is the speed test done at around 09:15 Eastern time. Location is at Kennedy and Finch area. The mobile stick is facing out of the west window of my location.

I'll post more at different locations and different times to gauge the network, but right now, it doesn't look like a fast network at all.

Upstream and latency looks good, but that down stream is awful. And what reception problems were you experiencing? I have yet to hear of any major issues with Mobilicity reception.

Here are the test results for the providers that I have access to test with. All the test was done at one location and around the same time more or less.

Unfortunately I do not know the APN that Mobilicity uses, so I had to use dynamic in this case.
