The MSID and MDN won't always have the same first three digits.

Did hard reset, soft reset, flashed stock rom, custom rom, got the numbers again from the CSR - no go. Count it as one TP2 that didn't work. My guess - miscommunication of the MEID, since I got a MSL that didn't work.

If your MSL is not what's in Sprint's system, auto-provision will not work. Sprint's system relies on the MSL to program the device OTA. You either need to try ##rtn# reset, and see if it allows you to use the MSL/SPL code.

Oh and custom ROMs usually have a nasty tendency of not allowing you to program Powervision profiles and whatnots. If you haven't gotten to the point of getting everything set up yet, I'd strongly recommend that you do everything under the stock rom before doing anything else.

On a stock 6.1 ROM, did ##RTN# reset -> incompatible MSL remained.
Used CDMA workshop to set MSL to the one the Boost CSR gave me.
Set the MDN and the MSID -> "Hands Free Activation" comes up and fails.
    Did "System\Update Profile" -> fail. Error 1012.

How long has the phone been active on Boost? It CAN take up to 3 days before it will provision data.

Maybe we're not on the same page here, but I didn't have to do any of that with mine. All I did was pressed "update profile" in the settings and it worked right away, and after I got my account changed back to "pay as you go", data worked right away as well. Granted, this was an hour or two after I did the initial activation, but I didn't have to do any of that MSID or that kind of stuff. I soft reset once because the "update profile" button does that automatically, but other than that, no extra "attention" was required for mine to work. Maybe I haven't read closely enough and perhaps you are trying to accomplish something else, but as far as activation is concerned, everything was pretty automated for me.

    Good Luck!

    Touch Pro 2

I’ve tried 3 times so far, about to try a fourth. The first time the lady would not take an ESN starting with 270, said Boost ESN starts with 268. Asked and asked about phone type, found out Sprint, hung up on me. Second lady would not do a sprint phone, hung up on me.

Third guy, VERY NICE, out of the Dominican Republic. We had a very nice report…told him it was a Touch Pro off top, put everything in and tried and tried to get everything in for 20min. Said everything was in the computer but that it would not “take the plan.” Called for assistance and tried for another 10min, then began inquiring about the phone provider. Told him it was Sprint and he never got it to work. I’m going to try another 2 to 3 times and if it doesn’t work I’m going to go ahead and switch to a CDMA account first and then try again.

Just did one today .. iDEN to CDMA (Mogul). Said it was KRZR and the rep either didn't notice it wasn't or didn't bring it up. Talk and Web worked immediately, oddly enough I can't get most incoming texts yet. I'm assuming that for now the system may be routing it to the old Nextel side or something and hope that will clear up.

Ok. I've tried like 7 times and I guess it's in my account notes now or something because as soon as I give them my ESN they either come back and ask what phone it is (I've told the truth, lied, it doesn't matter), hang up on me, say hold on and transfer me etc. Time to try it the other way. I'll hit the other thread and see if I can borrow an ESN.

Nashvillain, if you don't already have an active account it won't work. Also from the sounds of it, the ESN you're trying to use is tied to a Sprint account. If it's a Touch Pro, and they can't select a plan, that's probably the deal.

Call Sprint and verify the ESN.

I’ve had my current IDEN account for about five months, which is the one I attempted to migrate. When I bought the phone the first thing I did was call sprint to check the ESN and they said it was clear.

Ok. I have a CDMA account now through a c290. I called in to swith to my sprint Touch Pro 2 and I still couldn't do it. I asked him what the error was and he said the system says "the phone is not compatible."

hello folks - thanks for all the effort in helping out us new additions to Boost.

I have been trying all combinations of the SIM and MEID numbers and they are coming back as used. Any chance there are more combinations available?

    Thanks in advance.

If a SIM ID / Activation Number comes back as used, just redo it like 10 times, it will eventually say there is a $10 processing fee for a used card.
