Hi folks. I have Sprint and my wife has T-Mobile. She would like a BB for the ease of texting, etc. She doesn't want a data plan though. So here is my question for all of you T-Mobile experts. What BB can you get on T-Mobile that does not require a data plan? Thanks.

With Voicestream/T-Mobile since May 1996.
With Verizon Wireless since July 9, 2008...
...and then quickly to AT&T Wireless 3 days later!
Now with Sprint as of Dec. 3, 2009.
i don't think you can actually do that..
IF you buy your BB from outside TM, you may be able to do that. I am not sure. I do know if you buy a subsidized BB (or any smart phone) fm. TM you have to have a data plan.
GoogleVoice (domestic call forwarding and cheap intl. calls)
T-Mobile lines on unlimited "family" plan - me, wife. Cost is about $80 a line incl. 5GB/mo. data on each line. We have had no landline in 7 years
All prepaid does not require data.
if you don't care about a data plan. Buy a blackberry off of ebay.
Get a tmobile model or an unlocked GSM model.
just pop your sim card in and you should be able to do voice
calls and text messages. Sending pictures could be problematic
however.
I used to do this all the time.
notes:
1. starting at BB Os5 I think, you need a data plan to upgrade the OS on the device.
2. some BB models support connecting to a WIFI network, after which you can browse
the web without a data plan.

we may be through with the past
but the past is not through with us
T-Mobile only requires a data plan IF you purchase the device with a subsidy (including any mail-in rebates). If you purchase the device outside T-Mobile or at full price, you can use it with voice only (or voice + text) or even with pay-as-you-go data. BlackBerry has been doing a lot better job at allowing features to work when you're only data is through Wifi but some things such as Google Maps and BBM will not work properly (or at all) without a BlackBerry data plan.
Keep in mind that T-Mobile has a limited $10/month data available for BlackBerry.
Please use the search function before posting. Let's build upon the wealth of information already here. If you "don't have the time" or "can't figure out" how to search, don't be offended if your question is not answered, you're directed to an existing answer, you get bad advice or you have to wait for an answer.
