Acer Liquid E has 512MB RAM???

On the back of the Acer Liquid E box, it says that it has 512 ROM and 512 RAM.

From my understanding the Liquid only had 256 RAM, and the Liquid E is just the Liquid with Eclair, thus the 'E' ending.

Did they actually upgrade the hardware or is it just a typo?

cuz if that's not a typo, then the Acer is a damn fine device at $425+tax outright.

    What is a cell phone?

Rogers plus store in my area got them in stock so i took a look at the box and read the specs on the back. Didn't buy it though.

Most BestBuy store should have them in stock now (arrived Wednesday night). I picked one up on Thursday for $425+tax-$50 (BB card promotion for purchase $300 and over). It has 512RAM and appears to be unlocked (works on both Rogers and Fido SIM cards).

I picked one up as well this week and it's one helluva device. Far better than my X10, imho.

Yeah, it gets pretty hot with 3G or wi-fi running.

Ya it gets warm for sure. And it's under clocked too, imagine full 1000 Mhz? Is this the Acer quality people talk about?

for me, it only gets hot when im charging and talking on the phone at the same time.

when im browsing, it seems to be okay, not much different from my X10.

My X10 is actually pending sale right now, and the Acer completely replaced it as the daily driver. So pleased with it, and have my Magic as an adequate backup.

The Acer and the x10 is almost the same price. I would choose the x10 a it looks a LOT better and doesn't overheat. Overheating = bad because of SAR right?

the x10 would heat up on me a few times i used it heavy.

and the SAR on the Acer at a maximum is 1.21 vs x10 which i believe is 1.40 at a maximum. therefore the max the acer can reach is 1.21
