TM506 Unbranded, now the Vol Rocker not work

I just recent got an unbranded tm506 and i noticed that the vol rocker will not rase or lower my vol on the main screen, my other one i had with t mobile did, is there som way i can flash this or change a setting, thanks

When you press the volume rocker on the main screen does the Phone Status screen show up or does nothing happen?

Well you have to edit this line in your customize.xml file:


<ringtone-volume>false</ringtone-volume>

and you change it to true. Then you may have to do a reset settings on the phone for the change to take effect. But that's why it's showing phone status instead of the volume.

how can i get to that file, iv looked at some of the information in other threads, but i not understand, what program do i need to look at that file with and modify it

You'll find the link to download a2uploader. Once that is downloaded and installed, follow points #1 thru #5 of Step 1 ONLY.

After you do point 5, you're going to find the Customize.xml file in the list on a2uploader. You want to right click it and select Read.

It will then copy the file to your hard drive---I think wherever you save a2uploader, it should create a folder called Logs or something like that. And you'll find a copy of the customize.xml file there.

You'll want to edit that with Notepad. Search for the tag that I gave you to change the volume from false to true.

Save the edited file. Then drag and drop the edited customize.xml file from your hard drive back into a2uploader into the same folder where you read it from. It will overwrite the old file.

Then do points #8 and #9 of the Step 1.

Turn your phone on, do reset settings. That should cause the change to take place and your volume control should work again...
