Looks like the iPhone, AND it works on AWS! Closest thing to the iphone!

Looks like a great device, but I had to laugh at the "no flash support" in the specs. That makes it look even more like the iPhone, and that's not good...

However, it's Android and it's a Sammy. It's therefore gonna be awesome.

Ugh, just when I was finally narrowing down my choices between a Bold 9700 and the Nexus One, and now this is coming out!
"That 24-month period gave the incumbents all the time in the world to create the Chatrs of the world, create the Koodos of the world", Mr. Lacavera said, referring to the discount brands launched by Rogers and Telus in response to the threat from the new entrants.

I asked the question about it's compatibility with Wind/T-Mobile some time ago in the Samsung section. The only specs I've seen (and I've seen the same specs in numerous places) shows: Networks – 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100. No 1700 frequency, so unless there's a change, I'm not sure how it would work on either Wind's or T-Mobile's 3G?

Howard Chui (of this forum) demo'ed this phone some time ago with some T-Mobile apps, but wasn't sure if he was using a euro phone? Anyway, he pulled the demo and everything has been very quiet.

    Perhaps others have updated info?

Dont' forget Nokia N8, that may better than all above. This phone maybe the first one can challenge the iphone.

There are two versions of the Galaxy S. One being the i9000, and the T-Mobile - Wind-compatible version being the T959! Both are supposed to be the same though..

I don't think the Bold is comparable, unless you need secure emails for work.. The Android market is way better than the BB market.. Not to mention better camera, HD video, Super AMOLED, nice processor, and a good battery.. My 9700's battery lasts about a day, which is pretty pathetic!

I'd definitely go with the Galaxy S over either of those! Assuming you are patient enough to wait til july 21, by which time the Nexus two will only be a couple of months away.. LOL

Indeed. I've been keeping an eye on that monster too.

Ahh yes, I agree Android rules, but BBM and email are almost as important as my Tim Hortons every morning. See my predicament?

EDIT: This is my 8,888th post!

Would still like to see the specs. Samsung has been very public about the Galaxy S specs, but silent on the T959.

When have we ever seen the Tmo version of any phone get recognition? Manufactures are always more likely to promote the phone that are compatible with AT&T/Rogers because people are more likely to buy it and unlock it and people overseas are willing to buy it as well. Oh don't forget resellers as well. It will most likely be up to Tmo to promote the Galaxy S. Happens to a few Tmo compatible phones actually.....
