Any phone free on T-Mobile on June 19th?!!!

    http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/T...iveaway-108824

Some leaked details have emerged that T-Mobile is preparing for a June effort to help the fourth-placed U.S. wireless carrier improve its fortunes. According to leaked scripts for two as-yet-unaired T-Mobile commercial spots, the company is planning to give away phones for free on June 19 -- assuming of course that you sign a long-term contract. The exact details of the giveaway aren't yet clear, though the Father's Day promotion does seem very broad -- the promotion insisting that T-Mobile will be giving away "every single handset in the store." We can only assume there will be some fine print (when isn't there?) that hopefully will be revealed in a week or two.

    Sounds good to me!!

From what I understand, you only get free phone(s) if you switch to a family plan.

According to the latest sign pictured on tmonews it requires a new family plan activation:

I was looking at getting 5 lines on the $49.99 Family plan with 5 HD2's and then cancel after a month. The ETF will be 200 per phone right?

Yes it would. That would be fair but I think t-mobile also increased etfs based on phone type, but maybe some else here can confirm this or not.

T-Mobile ETF is still prorated $200 regardless of the device and goes down after the 18th month of service.

So, technically someone could sign up for 2 lines then cancel the 2nd line, convert the family plan to a single line, sell the phone as brand new on ebay and then pay the ETF on the 2nd line. It definitely seems feasible unless T-Mobile puts some clause into the contract which I doubt they will.
