Called in again today. No iPhones, but I got my plan reduced to:

    $50 Unlimited Incoming/Outgoing Anytime
+ Unlimited Long Distance and Text Messages to Canada & US
$10 iPhone value pack: Visual Voice Mail & Caller ID
    $30 6GB Data
    ----
    $90 +HST = 101.70

I was paying $130+tax before and still was going over my daytime minutes.

question, because the plan is unlimited incoming and outgoing local but it's un-zoned is it then unlimited incoming anywhere from anywhere? That's one thing I'd like to know. I know it's weird but the concept could have such a hole if they so decided to.

and example is: i'm in Toronto my phone number is a london number, but someone from Vancouver is calling me. My impression is that it's still free, however, if i call the person back it's LD.

As long as you're in Canada, on the Fido or Rogers network, you'll be fine.

right now i have the old city fido ($40 unlimited local calling) which i believe is zoned. do i call a regular rep or retentions to ask for the $35 plan w/ the code? do i need a reason? i've been a loyal customer for 7+ years

i would say i got the code from a friend who got the plan the day before. right now i get the 6.95 credited and i pay for CID. so my plan is a little under 60 each month. if they give me this plan will i have to pay the stupid SAF?

Yes, sorry, forgot that detail. It is unzoned.

At first he was going to give it to me zoned, but I said that didn't sound like a great deal and he switched it to unzoned. So I can call anywhere in US/CAN from anywhere in Canada, and I'm covered. Same with texts. If I go to the states, I'll pay roaming, but not LD.

At least that's how I understand it.

I had the same $40 CityFido plan and I ditched it for the $50 unlimited plan. Tell them you were thinking of cancelling and they'll probably switch you a retentions rep.

I told them my CityFido wasn't going to be adequate because of a change in my job situation, which would require traveling and thus incurring roaming and LD charges. You could ask if Fido could help you out since other carriers are offering very competitive plans.

Try not to use the plan code. From what I've read here, the reps might get very defensive about it. I tried to act as if I had no idea the $50 plan existed.

    There is no SAF charged.

    Good luck to you!

The plan is only in Canada. If you're in the states, you'll pay for your roaming. There won't be long distance since you won't be on the FIDO network.

LOL WHATTT???!!! If you value your wallet, STOP DOING IT IMMEDIATELY.

The unlimited browsing is NOT a data plan. It is for on-screen browsing on regular non-smartphones ONLY. If you attempt to use real internet access such as tethering, you can very quickly run up a nasty bill. You need a real data plan, listed HERE. (Or call and get the $30/6GB promotion right away)

Common sense is a great thing. Home internet costs $30-$60/month, right? Do you really think you could get away with high speed mobile internet on a computer anywhere for $10/month? Seriously, did you not immediately think you'll get charged?
FIDO $56 Smart Plan: Unlimited nationwide talk, global messaging, 2GB data w/ BIS and LTE, value pack
WIND $40 Wish Plan: Unlimited nationwide talk, global messaging, unlimited data w/ BIS, call control

First of all this thread is related to unlimited plans, since you are new its understandable.. Just for your info pay per use charges are 5c a KB so if you use 1 MB then you looking at $51.20 and if you use 1 GB then you are looking at $52,428.80. We all know some time there are loop holes & they work but if you are on a monthly plan I woudn't even try doing something like this.
My Month to Month Bell Plan on HSPA/EVDO
15000 Outgoing Seconds a Month(250Min), Unlimited Incoming Calls, Unlimited eve&weekend 6pmto8am,Unlimited Text From Canada to Canada&USA Incld LandLine, Unlimited FWDing, Enhanced Voice Mail, Caller ID, Conference Calling/Call Waiting, If I go over my 15000 Seconds (Extra seconds are 2.5c for every 15 seconds)=10c a Min, Canadian LD 2c for every 15 Seconds=8c a min, USA LD = 3.5c for every 15 Seconds=15c a min,
    $22 a month + BC Taxes @ 12%

    thanks for answer
i am in a monthly plan but my I have 300 $ limited, so i don not think that if I use this plan for 1 Gb they can charge me more than 300 $ .However it is an unlimited mobile browsing which means that you can use the internet as much as you can !. I do not think that it is a problem if you use the internet with your cellphone and download some data.
if your cell phone has a capability to connect with your laptop so you can surf webpages in the Internet with your laptop! I can not understand it how they can charge me for 5 cents per KB because in the privacy policy it is not stated. Actually the internet connection is slow because they are using WAP not 3g .
So you think that if I connect my cellphone to my laptop they will charge me but if I use the internet with my cellphone they do not charge me and I have to pay only 10 $ per month ? . Finally How can they find that I am using the internet with my laptop not with my cellphone ? because it is hard for me to use the internet with cellphone but with laptop is more convinient.
I am waiting for your responces friends

It's unlimited browsing using the embedded WAP browser on your phone. That is it.
