it passed long time so i wonder if we already know whether data are zone or not .
"That 24-month period gave the incumbents all the time in the world to create the Chatrs of the world, create the Koodos of the world", Mr. Lacavera said, referring to the discount brands launched by Rogers and Telus in response to the threat from the new entrants.
All my posts are my own opinion only and not necessarily that of any of my employers, past or present.
I essentially have Unlimited Voice and Messaging for 25+12 ($37). I am based in Vancouver.
100+Unlim EW+Unlim CAN TXT and unlim incoming.
Retentions just offered me (TODAY) a 3GB for $40 (Minus $20 Rebate) to stay with Fido, since they won't offer me the 6GB for $30 without a contract.
*#123# Shows: No Tarriff Information
Does this mean I can use my 3GB data nation wide?
amrivlin.com
I'm sorry but based on what you just wrote, you don't have unlimited voice at all...
$25.00= 100 Daytime Min. (Billed By the Second). Evening+W-E Unlimited @7PM. Unlimited SMS in Canada to Canadian users.
$12.00= Unlimited Incoming Local Calls.
$40.00= 3GB Data.
The Fido/Rogers Extended Network is include in your $25.00 Fido Basic Plan. That's why you get "No Tarriff Information" when you dial *#123#...
Fritz Z24...
Ok Fritz, essentially you are correct. I do not have unlimited calling, I do however use a google voice redialer, and all my calls are "incoming" based on the fact I have unlimited incoming.
Last month I had 7min outgoing usage and 1,700 incoming minutes.
But I was just trying to clarify, is the 3gb data I have Nation Wide?
I got $80 plan with 6GB data yesterday. The rep told me it would be active midnight. So, today I should be on it. On my Fido online account page, I see - "Unlimited Local Minutes + Unlimited Canadian text messages + 6GB of Data". But when I do *#123#, I get - "NO TARIFF AREA INFORMATION AVAILABLE". So, do I have nationwide data?
Ok, once again the *#123# has nothing to do with data.
It's to check whether you're inside your zone (calling) and zoned data is not even confirmed for anyone yet.
Secondly, if your online account says "Unlimited Local Minutes" without the word "Vancouver" right after it (or any other city) then you have managed to get the non-zoned version. The message "NO TARIFF AREA INFORMATION AVAILABLE" when you dial *#123# means you have no zones and unlimited local calling anywhere you go.
Either Fido has brought back the original plan or they made a mistake, either way congrats!![]()
Can you please confirm if you were advised of zones when you were given the plan? I noticed Fido.ca no longer offers the plan code and gives a generic description of the plan.
I have the no-zone version of the plan and my account page shows the same as yours does. I obtained my plan in April 2010.
has anyone been successful in applying the Fido Ambassador 50% discount on this $80 plan?
TIA
Ambassador accounts are not eligible for retention plans or any goodwill credits. You can give up your 50% discount and get the retention plan, but cannot get both.

Would you be as so kind to post the PLAN CODE for the NON-Zone Based plan? that way we can confirm they are not pulling a fast one on us when we call into the hotline
My Feedback
I put the "Ho" back in "HOFO"
Those who has unzoned and recently sign onto contract, please log into ur Fido.ca acc and make sure your plan will not change to the zoned version. Mine is changed to the zoned:
Plan
Unlimited Local Minutes + Unlimited Canadian text messages + 6GB of Data
New plan
Unlimited Local Minutes - Vancouver + Unlimited Canadian text messages + 6GB of Data
Effective on 08/13/2010
I’m on hold with customer relation to change it back. Wish me luck.
yep that happened to me I knew it was gonna happen so i called back right away and got a request put in the grandfather department gave an estimate of August 19
Private Msg me for free Blackberry unlock codes include IMEI AND PRD OR MEP
So after a 50 minutes conversation, they corrected everything.
When I log in again,
it’s changed to:
Plan
Unlimited Local Minutes + Unlimited Canadian text messages + 6GB of Data
5 minutes after talking to them!! That was fast.
So, be extra cautious when you change your plan.
