CSR Manager called to tell me their mess up (which I already knew about and asked to go back to my 700min ret plan) but offered to put me on the older unzoned plan. (without me calling in, asking or crying about it: they offered)

There are over a hundred codes for the new zoned version. It depends on where you live, device, contract and other factors. Your plan code is not the old Canada-wide version.
Again, as posted on the first page, simply dial *#123# and press send. It will tell you whether you're in your zone or not. The old non-zone version just says "no tariff area information available".
