Evo on PagePlus???

Someone says they flashed the Evo to cricket. I think it was the flashing subforum of the main HTC forum. Don't know if this helps for PPC, but if Cricket can be flashed, I imagine it wouldn't be hard to compile the info for VZW to put on an Evo.

I think it would be helpful for new users to help them understand how to find the correct subforum with an example. For instance, I have been trying to find where this post has moved to using search and manually looking for the right subform.

So, an example of the path would be helpful such as:
Forum | Manufacturer Discussion | HTC | Hacks and Programs For HTC Devices

and a hint on the best search term to use.

I thought I was pretty good at finding information until I go to this forum. It's a great forum but hard to find the relevant info. I know that is why you are moving threads so it can be more useful. My point is to provide a bit more education and I think this would reduce search frustration and improve the efficiency of the site.

You can put an EVO onto Page Plus no problem just manually program it like other sprint phones for talk and text. Its getting the internet/data to work which has been my stumbling block.

What have you tried so far? I would think this would be very similar to any other EVDO smartphone from Sprint where you'll need to have a phone that was previously active on Sprint(so the provisioning can be bypassed), and leave profile 0 and 1 alone and add another MIP profile(2) with the required username/passwords to work on PPC/verizon. It should be even simpler then cricket/metropcs.

guys i would appreciate more info about this. i like this phone better than anything verizon sells and i might buy it. is it possible to make all the functions work and is it easy to find out how to program it? i dont know much about these smart phones.

I guess I'm just looking for some confirmation that this phone will work on pageplus before I sink $450 into one on ebay.

The internet has no info on doing this, so I'd like to hear what the experts think.

I put an Evo on PagePlus for voice and text. It was very straight forward:
- Put the Page Plus PRL for Sprint phones in the root of the SD card.
- Then type ##PRL#, enter the MSL and load the PRL.
- Next type ##<your MSL># and edit the phone number and MIN, save the changes, restart the phone and you're done.

Voice and text work, the voice mail indicator doesn't, workaround is to use Google Voice for voice mail so you get a text when someone leaves a VM.

I'm not interested in data at PP prices but it sounds like insanecain can help you with that.

thanks, i was gonna use google voice anyway. insanecane, will all data capabilities work like on a verizon phone? are we gonna be able to tell if we are roaming or not with the evo? is something gonna pop up on the screen while roaming?

i think most are overthinking this.... if you can put a hero on pageplus, you can do the evo. It is a fantastic device, and I'm more than willing to help you guys. I don't personally use the service, but to0 and I have successfully put this on other carriers

Cain, exactly what other carriers have you and to0 been able to use the EVO on?
