Hey everyone, would like to first thank everyone for the excellent info, I'm new to hofo and fairly new to the heavy flashing. More experience with rooting and jailbreaking. But I'm currently trying to flash a friends EVO4g to PP, followed the tutorial of krinen posted earlier and using the qpst was able to get the talk and text going but the data just won't come thru, even at 1x. Any suggestions?

However, on the Data Profile part the user name is his username at sprintpcscom is this a problem? Cause when I go to settings to check mark the Mobile Networks it says "Disconnected because service is unavailable".
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
P.S. sorry for having to post like this but since I'm new it would let me post the entire message kept complaining about no links, images or videos until I post a few times, think cause of the email format
My antenna is smaller than yours
You have to change user names to (your#)@vzw3g.com and password to vzw.

1: have another phone activated to your pp account
2: connect to qpst>start client>service programming click read from phone and under cdma-2 tab write down the number in imsi_s, close qpst
3: connect evo to cdma workshop, send spc, go to memory tab > Nv Items > Write and choose the file NVItems, let it finish writing and close out cdma workshop, do not send reset
4: connect to qpst>efs explorer click ok to send spc and after folder list loads drop the 10.key file into the DMU folder , close efs and open service programming , click load file and choose the file provided , after it loads go under the cdma-2 tab and change the imsi_s to the one you wrote down earlier, save to phone .
5: reset phone , have it reactivated and *228 program it, after it resets from programming dial ##data# edit and make sure the proper min and mdn wrote to the phone, if not enter them manually and reset
IF 3g does not work let it sit for about 15 mins and it should start working, if not just connect qpst and double check all the data settings and make sure the phone numbers match up,Do not edit AAA Ha passwords
sorry for the poor write up but i have never wrote a tutorial, but i have activated many evo's on vzw and to my knowledge am the only person to have 3g truly working so i know it will also work with pp, and if you guys do a little digging you can also have 4g =)
I used this tutorial, did everything I had to do but still only getting 1x am I doing something wrong?
Also on Step 4 at the end it says "SAVE TO PHONE" does that mean write to phone?

Yes it means write to phone, reconnect phone to qpst and go under ppp tab. Put your phone number in where ever you see a numer @vzw 3G . I am not looking at it right now but I think its rum um and an buttons on qpst. Make sure you change the tethered to the right on um screen.

I am trying to follow goonygugle's instructions with the files he supplied but I am getting a PRL error and something about the file does not match my phone...... Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Cmda Workshop (How I am loading PRL)
Click on the main tab, set the port number from the drop down box, click connect.
Once connected click on the Security tab, Enter the MSL/SPC number you got from the MSL Reader app. Then click send. (You will get a prompt saying "SPC Correct, Phone Unlocked")
Click on the "Other" tab
Under the PRL section click load PRL or Write Select the Verizon PRL below from where you saved it. Then click "write"
Reboot Phone

Not sure why that's happening, when I did mine I used qpst 2.7 under the roam tab with no trouble.
